That's the new ones for Aberdeen-Manchester isn't it Gez? I didn't realise Preston provided drivers for them....

It's a shame Lancaster doesn't get any Magabus services, and only the NatEx 570.

It sure is, not 100% which duties Preston cover on the Anglo Scottish anymore, I shall try and find out, pretty sure they still head northbound on the overnight

Lancaster did have a Megabus service briefly, it left Lancaster around 07:00 after running Dead up from Preston. It wasnt used much and regularly left for London empty or with 1 or 2 passengers onboard. I think it lasted around a year before being scrapped. Drivers for Megabus were initially from the old National Express roster at Preston depot.

noted this afternoon was 18363 (Morecambe FC livery) heading for Preston on a 40 crossing Skerton Bridge.

Good find Paul. I still can't believe that they're in such good nick.

I wonder what the other 2 that Mike Nash has to process are [I assume that they're 10179/728]?

must be CE's if they're not in as good condition. you have to remember though that the 78 is a much much rougher route than the 599, so they really do take a battering! may also be worth pointing out that the Titans for 599 had blue seating, new flooring, white walls inside, whereas the ones on 78 have brown seating, the original flooring (from early 80s!), and have yellow and green walls inside (from the old Lakeland livery).

47062 on 50.
47616 on 51.
33167/8/9 on Harrington & Seaton.
a pretty full 35248 was on 31 earlier.
20919 on 48, with side and rear flip dots dead.
20962 on short 300, with dead rear flip dot. noticed a CCTV sticker next to the door on this, but there is no CCTV cameras on it.
20759 and 52628 on X5.
52629 on X4.

whilst i was on X services, i overheard a few passengers complaining about the buses. as one old lady was trying to get off 20759, she said "I can't wait until these new buses come", only for the driver to shout "they're no different love", which then came with a few groans from passengers, mainly pensioners, who all get on for bloody free anyways!!!

On another subject, the late 30 services will be operated with Optare Solo's starting shortly, this is because the number of passengers traveling in the evenings does not make MAN operation viable.
This will mean that there will be 2 solo's on 30's in the evenings, all MAN's will be back at LL by about 7.30.

Makes a lot of sense... Given the vast number of times i have seen a MAN with about 4/5 people on board in either direction.

I'm surprised it hasn't happened earlier to be honest!

The students are back and they bring chaos with them in the form of a traffic jam throughout the city, 14196 on Slyne Road around 20mins late and going nowhere fast. i went round via Halton trying to get to work and saw an Olympian and a Trident queueing for town at J33 and they didnt move in the 15mins it took me to get off the motorway cars queueing back onto the southbound carriageway - god knows what the City centre was like

I'd forgotton that the students were back!

Last night was just chaos as well. Lancaster at a standstill, the motorway queued back to nearly J36 [in no small part due to roadworks in the J34 area]. The A6 all the way into Lancaster was also gridlocked, with traffic queued back onto the A601(M) at the Pine Lake roundabout, Carnforth and still further up the A6.

Theres roadworks for junction improvements on penny street/thurnham shutting off traffic to aldcliffe road so they are having to go up south road then go around pointer rounabout to come down south road and turn left to aldcliffe road.<(
Plus theres a festival market on in town centre.

No, there's got to be more than 29 Darts and 6 Sprytes leaving Miseryside.

Perhaps B10L/Wright Liberators are being sold on?
