just like it would be nice to have something better on 300 that is capable of travelling in a gear higher than 3rd hahaha

Tell me about it... I dread going out in the car to carlisle... I just know that at some point along my journey, i will encounter the arse end of a Volvo Olly, and be slowed to a meagre 40MPH (or slower, as the case usually may be!)... it's not so bad if i'm travelling along in the same direction as the likes of 20768, or similar, as they can hold a decent pace!!

ah... while i remember... Does anyone know what the fate of 20777 is given the recent bodywork damage when it was grounded?

20777 is still around. damage was minimal. i havnt saw it out and about recently though. used to see it on 22 a lot, but i don't see that service much these days lol.

I've noticed a hell of a lot of Non-E300s working the 30/31 recently.... where are all the MANs??
Also,
there is a nice big hill in maryport, on Ennerdale road, and Merc 709d's climb up okay. Yesterday, i could hear what sounded like a Solo revving it's little nuts off, and sure enough, when i turned round, here it was, doing about 5mph, at full taps!! these aren't really good hillclimbers.. i can only guess what they are like on the steeper whitehaven routes!

wasnt enough to start with haha. 30 and 31 need 13 buses, but theres only 11 enviro 300's. 22597's front LED was dead yesterday, and i didnt see it around today. 20734 was on 31 (possibly the worst riding B10M we have).

so yeah, cos they only got 11 enviro's to cover services requiring 13 buses, we usually end up with 2 darts on 31 (34616 was on today, running late...as usual, cos it can't manage the route well).
nothing is planned out at all in North West like.
25225 was sent to replace 32917, which then stayed cos enviro's kept breaking, and it was then re-replaced by 34079, which is just as useless lol, cos it hasnt much power, struggles getting up Calva into Seaton (you might as well ask driver to let you off at bottom, power walk up, and get yourself a nice picture of it at the top)

when i was on 34616 on saturday, we came out of Distington en route to Whitehaven, went down the hill, tried getting up the other side, and we were travelling at the same speed as a cyclist for around 10 - 15 seconds!!! now that is bad! was a full load like, all 38 seats taken up haha (i know its only 8 seats less than enviro 300, but those 8 seats make a difference! especially when its Maritime Festival! they had deckers on instead of enviro's, but still had bloody darts on!)

Dont be too sure of yourelf, Darts are versatile if somewhat tempremental (especially the Transbus ones) bus.

You dot think they will come to ME but its the Stingray effect - anything can happen in the next half hour!

Well if they were to come to ME they would surely replace old solos and not B10's as they are not big enough. The solos we have are fine capacity wise for the routes they run so replacing them wouldn't make much sense.

If they did come to ME Id imagine they would be B10M replacements rather than Solos. I think this way as it would increase the lowfloor allocation enabling more of the network to become accessible plus the Solo is too small to take on B10 work wheras there isnt much between a Dart and a B10 capacity wise. A B10 has 10 seats over a Dart, but the Dart can hold more standing with 39 seats I think and the large floor space in the forward section.

Oh fair enough well it may be possible then. How many Darts are CE loosing? If any that it at least at the moment as the E300's are replacing B10's.

i did know the capacities for the darts, but forgot them now haha.
if you think about it, Carlisle had B10M's (49 seat) on their Citi routes, which were replaced by ALX300's (42 seat), which were then replaced by the darts (38 seat). i've got a feeling standing capacity on the darts is around 28, but don't quote me on that. i'll try get on one today and find out for you's.
as i was saying to Dallamlad on msn last night, the ADL Darts at Carlisle are great for City type work. they ride well enough at up tp 30mph, with most still riding pretty well at 40. the 56 reg ones we have at LL feel a little better like, and unlike 34616, can manage most of the hills they have to go on.

47023 was on Moorclose 50, but was replaced by 35248. 47023 then went to Whitehaven to run the 1.
42562 on 51.
47616 also on 1.
33169 and 47617 on Mirehouse.
33167, 33168 and 34079 on Harrington & Seaton. 34079 was replaced by 35248 for a Seaton 47 run.
20763 on staff shuttle and SL Ltd this afternoon.
20752 and 34616 on 31.
34616 was running on time on the Maryport 31 side, but ended up running late (same time as 30) on Frizington 31.
16652, 16654 and 16447 been on 300 through day.
20765 replaced 16447 to do the evening runs.
14257 on 30A.
35247 and 35249 on 31A.

if anyone has been on Flickr recently, they might have saw a picture of the recent crash damage of some withdrawn vehicles!!!
40651 has crashed into the back of 40025, which was then shoved into the back of a B10M!
i wonder if these will be repaired to be sold on haha.

16663 was on the 755 today. Think it might be difficult with 16659 in carlisle for repaint,16661 next up for chassis refurb/repaint/retrim when 16659 comes back.

I believe more B10s have migrated to Cumbria from Manchester. Saw 20965 on the 104 this afternoon.

My understanding was that the Enviro 300s were replacing B10s on the 104. Not sure Carlisle can spare any Drats, as they seem to have difficulty covering all the Citi diagrams with the ones they have. Olympians, B10s and 814Ds are often out on the Citi routes.

Jonesy - there you are then. I'll tell you how bad my eyesight is.....without my glasses I can't read the fleet number as I get on a bus. Put another way, I can only read a number plate from about 2m away!

Annie - you are probably quite right about the Carlisle situation. The E300s will displace B10Ms, but not Darts and so provide a higher % of spares.

Could have been coming up from Garstang outstation. I think it would normally do a schools then go onto ME for fuel with the schools on holiday it would just come up Dead.
