Taken from the bay website

We've had reports that a pedestrian has been involved in a collision with a bus in Morecambe.

It's reported to have happened on Princes Crescent, between Marine Road East and Elms Road shortly before 6pm this evening (Tuesday).

The road has been closed by Police.

Hi
There seems to be a far few rumours circulating that Carlisle is to receive a number of Optares for city service to replace some of the current new 200's. Certainly the last Optare recieved 47921 has been operating on the 76 service in recent weeks but not sure if this is just a co incident or if this indeed does point to the rumours being true. Can anyone add any comments wether this is true or is it as I've said just a rumour.
Regards
Ernie

Nothing new coming into the SC&NL fleet just having a big shuffle about and the MAN bodied E300s coming from Gilmoss to morecambe to replace the ALX300s.

Monday 6th April 2015, page 9, News and Star has the following article, extracts listed:

"Stagecoach going Solo with switch to midibus"

"Stagecoach is preparing to replace its new bus fleet in Carlisle with midibuses. It says the small vehicles can seat up to 37 passengers, are 'better matched to demand'."

"It is only a year since Stagecoach announced a £4m investment in 41 full-size buses for Carlisle city services. The brand new single deckers entered service last summer."

"Now Stagecoach is planning to replace most of them with Optare Solo midibuses.."

There is a quote from a company spokeman. There is a photos of one of last years ADL E200s. There is a photo of Nigel Winter in a bus driver seat.

This article does not yet appear in the newspapers online website.

37 seats would mean that Stagecoach are opting for the 9.9m Solo, which somehow I doubt...especially as that 37 seats is to Optare seating layout, not Stagecoach.

I would guess that 9.2m Solos seating around 30 are more likely...but let's not forget that E200s only seat 37 anyway.

A little late but a couple of unusual allocations to report from the last week or so.

E300 27155 working the 2X/X2 on the 29th March.
Esteem 28514 working the 109/113 last week (Thursday I think).

Few due into M & SL aswell ;)

I'm guessing the new vehicles for M&SL will include the batch of deckers for Chorley for the 125. Still can't see the route going Gold, to many misfits along certain parts of the route to warrant such high value seating.

Well as a regular bus user (everyday for work)

This has got to be the most stupid idea I have ever heard

But of course stagecoach are only interested in greed profit not passengers interests
