It'll be a shame when 16664 leaves. Any plans to repaint another bus in the classic stripe livery? It's a regular on the 42 to Blackpool and is always nice to see.

Does anybody have an update on the Rouemaster (s?) that are been refurbed?

Kendal one is coming along nicely. Far as Im aware the Lillyhall one is not being refurbished and they are robbing parts off it unless things have changed again.

Ex First 33338 towed into Carlisle this afternoon for repaint no doubt.

Just remember that buses and maybe more so coaches are built to last a lot longer than cars. Some coaches can still give great daily service when 16/17 years old.

Also today I noted a 104 branded enviro on the 61 at about 4:20 this afternoon.

and the 79/179s were severely delayed going back to Carlisle, I overheard a driver talking about a flood somewhere but not really sure. A lot of city darts made it onto the route as replacements.

24119 on the 61 iirc. Severe flooding causing chaos to the 79!

I used to work in the bus/coach industry for over 20-years, and found that some of the older buses / coaches are more reliable and better to drive then some of the newer ones are.

Unfortunately, the travelling public prefer to travel on newish vehicles.

If you mean the Tridents, they're MX05/55 plated and were new in 2005 to Stagecoach Manchester.

Although not Stagecoach, you may be interested to know about what happened to preston Transport Ltd, which was the vehicle set up by the employees of Preston Bus in their ill fated bid to buy the firm off stagecoach (sold instead to Rotala). When the firm was set up, the registered office was in St Annes, near Blackpool. However, since then, another person has taken the vehicle on, Gareth Stuart Nash. The firm is now registered at Darwen, Lancashire, and has had 8 directors. There are three current directors, and five former directors. Mr Nash is the sole shareholder, with just 1.oo shares.
