Couldnt agree more!!! I often get the 555 between Keswick and Kendal and when the extra 555s start in july I'm hoping kendal well put out some of their old olympians, I remember travelling on 14254 when it was in carlisle about 2/3 years ago and I didn't really appreciate it in those days

As far as I'm aware KL will be putting Leylands on extra 555s this year, probably for the last time!

I see your point about not appreciateing Leylands when they were about. I used to travel on a Leyland every day to school and now when I get 14296 it's a treat!

Sadly there shouldn't be too many Leylands on 555s this year.
There will be at least 1 board (for 14245), but more likely 2 due to the Scanias being temperamental.

(Un)fortunately, I've always been able to appreciate Leylands when I was on them, in my time 555 has been Volvos/Tridents/Scanias.

35248 had broken down while on the short X5 and being at the furthest stand it was blocking every bus that wanted to be out, the two X4s ended up leaving at 11:25 with the driver on the one to Penrith looking extreamly frustrated. A mechantic later arrived on 47023, interestingly 52628 was the other short X5(usually a low floor dart)

So thats where 47023 disappeared to after it started the day on 50, then leaving 20918 on the rest of the day before 35248 got its act together and went on 51 for a decker around half 2/3 o'clock.

22610 must of replaced after this.

yeah thats right, no idea why the mechantic needed a low floor solo to get to keswick, could just as easily have taken 20918 I reckon.. strange

Bad day for Workington today, worst I've seen for a long time.
xx50 Harrington Circular 46 and xx25 Seaton 47 haven't ran all afternoon, not sure if they did this morning. No buses available to run that board. It left the xx10 Harrington 46 and xx45 Seaton 47's with quite heavy loads.
16666 went onto short 302 at 13:04 replacing a failed vehicle. 16184 doing Moorclose 50's and 16124 on Moorclose 51's replacing 20473, which in turn replaced a failed vehicle on X5. I'm wondering if the failed vehicle was maybe 52628, as that was working town service 48 this afternoon instead of the usual decker.
15683 departed Workington 25 minutes late on 300, certainly a while since I've seen one run as late as that.

They'll have a job using 20547, its in full time service at Carlisle after 20451's gearbox packed up a few months ago. Not sure where 20540 and 20544 will end up for Olympics cover, they were last in service at Carlisle (not sure if still stored at Carlisle or if they've now moved to Lillyhall), and Carlisle will be needing 2 B10's in themselves for cover

In an ideal world, it is. However I believe Gez has said that a few of the older MANs are off for work so 21007 is spreading its wings.

To be fair with students been off and 2 E300s been free it's a good oppotunity to work on the MANs and bring them up to scratch especially if they are to be used on the 3/4 while the E300s are away for the games! So 21007 is just extra cover for ill MANs

As Cainebj mentioned on the last page no major transfers are expected as and I don't think solos will be coming out.

Solos lost from 74 will go onto Preston Citi, to allow 47019/21 to finall catch up with their paper move to C&NL reserve and 33472 to return to reserve/disposal.

Considering how long it has been VOR and will take a while to get it running normally again. Infact probably all of this season and then it's VOR again until next season! Can not win...

Not hard at all you're right but Reays want a slice of the cake. Not that 3 journeys a day there and back is going to get them a big slice, also depends what bus they put on it! I'd rather have a ride on a new Scan and an OT then anything Reays have, unless they've bought new...

It'll probably be some old city hopper buses, I couldn't quite imagine Reays buying a double decker for some reason although I could be pleasantly wrong Will this service stop at all the same places as 555, 599 eg Grasmere, Rydal, Ambleside, Windermere ect?

From what I gather it runs 7 days a week but inbetween school journeys on Mon-Fri using a Coach from Wigton depot.

I was however reading last night that Reays have got 2 Volvo ALX400's arriving next week to be branded as the Lakes Hopper. Weather this is for a new route all together or he has changed his mind about the 55 and is going to use Deckers and make it hourly or something remains to be seen.

Deckers makes sense but I cnt c him being rammed.
