A similar thing is happening in Fife, whereby the Rennies depot and vehilces, and the Strathtay depots and vehicles, are all going to be moved onto the Fife Scottish Omnibus licence. From what I've been told about that situation, the move is due to the Traffic Commissioner wishing such a thing to be done, as everything is run from Kirkcaldy. It also could prevent an operator from being banned from a route on one licence, but then running it on another, assuming, and this isn't confirmed, that the strathtay licence is surrendered.
As I understand it, It will bcome a dormant company

Curses! I was too busy in the shop to see anything else of interest, and it was so cold I decided not to hang around after finishing work.
Should be out with the camera today, so I assume nothing unusual will appear :roll:.

Today is the last day of Reays routes 63, 63A, 64 and 70. They've said on their Facebook page that they're thanking people who have phoned, written, and signed petitions. They also say their 64A and 75 will still run.
Are Reays doing anything special in Carlisle today, with their last day on those four routes?

Regarding the changes to VOSA licenses, are Stagecoach in North Lancashire & Cumbria and Stagecoach in Manchester staying as separate companies or being merged into Glenvale Transport Ltd?

No, usual shabby buses out including the 2 step entrance ones.
63 63a starts again 15th May with 300R withdrawn.

Reays shabby buses = stagecoaches best buses lol
All stagecoach buses in cumbria bar a handeful are shabby

Don't think Reays buses have been washed in weeks, embarrassing really.
I would much rather travel on a dirty nearly new bus to a old rattly boneshaker with a miserable driver

I never seen a any dirty buses in Carlisle.
The last couple of times, that I have been Carlisle. From what I have seen it should be Stagecoach that should be embrassed for operating R, S & W reg'd buses, NOT Reays, who have been operating 13-reg'd buses.
On Wednesday, I saw two N-reg'd Olympains in service in the lakes, one of which was 16339, I was unable to see the number of the other one.
How is it embarrassing to be operating older vehicles? TBH the fact that Stagecoach actually have older vehicles says a lot about their financial sense. I know I'm not the only person to view Reay's constantly changing fleet of new vehicles with some suspicion. I've no idea how Reay's fleet is financed, but the fact it keeps changing suggests to me that vehicles are returned back to the finance company in favour of something cheaper, as we say with JPT Travel in Manchester.

I'd also add to mbonwicks comment, namely that if Reays were supposed to have had 30'000 passengers a week using the Cityhopper services, then how on earth did it reach the stage they had to withdraw some routes?

The Dumpy (MPD) are regulars on the 685...
20960 was used as we had 4 Optares off early morning, it replaced 34710 which went into the 38.
