Besides the X52, which trips out of Edinburgh are the ‘peak’ trips that are most likely to throw up a double decker?

Which depots are involved in the operation of the X51, X55-X61?

X57: Largely Dunfermline
X58: Aberhill
X59: Glenrothes
X60: Aberhill - the short runs to Kirkcaldy have been seeing double deckers
X61: Glenrothes

I'd expect a few more deckers to appear on X55s and perhaps X57s/X60s as of Friday

What is the general consensus of how those Panther LE coaches have turned out from both a driver and passenger perspective.

I travelled on two this week and they are certainly different.

I think they are a good idea. Just a shame only Stagecoach have bought them.

There is a 20th coach built ( has red seats) No idea who has been testing it out? Any ideas? Trentbarton Red arrow? Stagecoach Northampton routes? Go ahead Yorkshire?
I still think Stagecoach will buy more of those if the X60 improvements work out.

If you mean the demo Panther LE, it is with NAT Group.

Stagecoach are apparently using buses for the solheim cup in gleneagles next month, providing the P&R shuttles to the event. does anyone know how many buses are being used during the event.

It seems ONCE AGAIN.. the company has under est the Festival passengers. NO doubt the mad rush to put out extra double deckers will happen again, just like every single year.

August changes have come out:

From Monday 19 August, there will be some minor changes to services in central and and west Fife, mainly due to Fife Council tender changes.

A summary of the changes, along with new timetables can be found below:

Service 4B/C: Dunfermline – Oakley - Blairhall - Steelend

These services will now be run by a different operator. Stagecoach tickets will not be valid on these services. However we will continue to run service 4 between Dunfermline and Blairhall. Stagecoach tickets will not be valid on service 4B/4C.

Service 18: Cowdenbeath – Auchtertool – Kirkcaldy

This service will no longer be run by Stagecoach and will be operated by a different operator.


Service 20A: Lochgelly – Lochore – Ballingry– Lochore – Lochgelly

We will begin running this new service, which was previously run by a different operator.



Service 33B: Dunfermline – Kingseat – Kelty

The 2235 Monday to Saturday journey from Dunfermline has been withdrawn and replaced by a journey on service 81 (see below).



Service 71: Kincardine – Crombie – Ferrytoll P&R – Inverkeithing

This service will no longer be run by Stagecoach and will be operated by a different operator. Stagecoach tickets will not be valid on this service.



Service 81: Dunfermline – QMH – Cowdenbeath– Lochgelly – Glenrothes

The timetable has been revised, including the addition of a late evening journey at 2250 from Dunfermline.



Service 85: Dunfermline – Duloch Park – Rosyth– Ferrytoll P&R

The timetable has been revised, to include additional morning and afternoon journeys.



Service 88: Rosyth Europarc – Inverkeithing

This service will no longer be run by Stagecoach and will be operated by a different operator. Stagecoach tickets will not be valid on this service.


Service 89: Crossford – Dunfermline – Inverkeithing– North Queensferry

We will begin running this new service, which was previously run by a different operator.



Service 201: Glenrothes – Scotlandwell – Milnathort – Kinross

Minor timetable revisions.



Service F6: Steelend – Dunfermline – Limekilns – Crombie – Rosyth

This service will no longer be run by Stagecoach and will be operated by a different operator. Stagecoach tickets will not be valid on this service

Bay travel. The routes bay travel have lost have been picked up by Stagecoach.

Its been on the route all week. Of course It think coaches are being used to proper up the peak network because of the festival.

Arbroath currently has ferrymill motors fm47, which is a YX18 E200. They also gained 15627/8 from aberhill but lost its only trident 18117 to perth

You'd be surprised that buses develop minor faults during the day, or require servicing, and are required to be taken off of service!

If you go into the relevant company fleetlist and look at the latest individual vehicle map, you can see where some but not all of them are currently. It is the ones without a route number shown on the fleetlists that I saw. It may only work with whatever happens to the tracking after 3 a.m., certainly with Bluebird, and a lot of buses there track at the bus station and depot and briefly show on the full bustimes.org map.

Yeah just noticed that. They only move fleetlists when they're tracked on a relevant division's route (e.g. Strathtay 73)

I think they are a good idea. Just a shame only Stagecoach have bought them.

Looking at the interior photos a while ago, I can say 2 things... 1. Much more room than low-floor buses with this sort of seating layout and 2. A fantastic replacement for the 3-axle Scania Omnilink's years ago. I can't wait to hopefully ride one to and from Edinburgh and Perth over the Forth Bridge hopefully next year - fingers cross I can get the front left hand side seat too.

Given the problems with Scotrail I'm reading about, it wouldn't surprise me if more people are using these Plaxton Panrher LE's to get to and from Edinburgh and Perth, although there is the megabus.com / Citylink Gold services.
