Stagecoach East Scotland

After doing some digging, it seems a number of registration have gone walkies.

These including
* PM4/363 - No55.
* PM4/423/424 - NoX42.
* PM4/411/412 - No95.
* PM4/449 - No X54 ( Dundee Section)
* PM4/451/452 - No X58/60 ( Edinburgh - Leven)
* PM4/454 - No42

None of the above are currently listed in any online searches, but would explain the missing details for these changes. Hopeful 55 get a new X55, and it would make since for the X42 and No42 to have revised timetables.

It not just stagecoach which currently has stuff being held up, another company changes have also gone walkies. I wonder what has gone wrong.

Does anyone know when will the new volvo B5LH E400s will arrive for the 73? Heard they are due sometime around March. Will the 73 timetable change as a result of the new hybrids?

Stagecoach will take over the 36 mill o' mains services from NX dundee and renumbering it to 236 from tomorrow

Also the 21 will get extended to Dundee from brechin/strathcathro hospital and the 23A/B/C forfar town services will be replaced by a new 25 service from next Monday.

No, just the 3 buses per hour Glenrothes to Halbeath P&R, and then the 10 min frequency from there to Dunfermline bus station, plus some extra X24s at peak times.

Plus the X30 The x54 was never that busy over the route in the first place. I'm rather surprised its taken this long for this to happen. Overall two thumbs up!

The last 7 to Dunfermline on Fridays and Saturdays will confuse/annoy some folk. There is currently a journey which terminates at Colinswell at 2346. This remains, but another bus will start from Aberdour at 2351 to Dunfermline depot. No through service, no connection! The timings are the same throughout but 2 buses operating the different parts of the route. I can understand why they've done it this way but it won't help passengers.

A change of bus is now required at Leven on Sundays from services X62 to 95 and vice versa. Presumably to reduce delays on the 95 if the X62 is in late. There are later journeys added on Sunday evenings between Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy & Leven. I can't understand why because these will almost certainly not be viable. There is a slight increase in running time on the 95 on Sundays which is welcome. Increased running time on Edinburgh which won't be needed all the time. Example - extra 3 mins between Leven & Kirkcaldy in late evenings??

Fewer connections from Edinburgh services to service 95 at Leven during the week. The 95 departs at 1820, X60 now due in at 1825. This won't be popular as there were always transfers at this time. The 95 often operates late as it must wait for X60 arriving for connections, However it will be the X58 which connects with the 95. Puzzling as the X58 will operate via Largoward not Anstruther.

Glenrothes has been give two ex Megabus coaches. Unsure of the numbers etc. One of them is running about in full Megabus colours.

That's right, 54061 is the only megabus coach now on loan for the X59. Incidentally, the two coaches away for gearbox repairs are 54027/36.

There was only one on loan, and I believe it is actually now back at Rennies again in reserve.
One of 54027/36 was back out on the X59 again today - spotted it on the FRB.

Aberhill have FM34 to cover 19050. 47178 may be off the road at the moment which may explain the Solo.

No, that was 19067 which did eventually make it to Manchester.
19050 is one of the batch that has been in Fife for years, but is at Ferrymill for accident repairs. However I think the FM Solo on loan at St.Andrews may be covering for their Solo SR, which is also at Ferrymill.

Overall the changes have been good, providing a more simpler network and faster services for many. Mind you it's strange how people have complained on twitter and Facebook about not being told about the changes, yet on both soical media outlets details were published.

Of course there has been some losers:

No50 axed. Of course would it be more worthwhile running a peak service between Leith - Granton - Gas Office - Blackhall - Barton - RBS, where passengers can connect with Fife and West Lothian services.

No747 Its been withdrawn from the Gyle area, because Edinburgh airport are now charging stagecoach for passengers going via the Airport. So even if 10 do not get off it still cost stagecoach.

The Airport only charge for passengers boarding at the airport, but it still amounts to a significant sum of money for the various operators to pay them.

In a very odd moved for the past couple of days, A slim solo has been operating on the X55/55.

Its been reported four "Volvo b7 geminis" are heading south to become open toppers. I expect them to be the 04 plates ones. I wonder what will replace the Volvo b7 geminis if there do head south.

A B13RT/Plaxton Elite is allocated to the afternon X57 which seems to be a bit overkill.

They got 3 Tridents from West Scotland, and the fourth Gemini was in reserve.

The four Geminis are for East Midlands, so could be for Skegness, or possibly Grimsby.

Aberhill has one spare B13RT every day so it makes sense to use it. Some days there's no choice but to use it with the number of B7s off the road!
