I keep on seeing E300 on the route, last week a E200 was on it. 53028 is heap and should be burnt.

Parks wont change until May at the easiest.

Your right about 53028, thought we were going to have to get out and push it up the hill from Bridge of Earn to Glenfarg!

Sadly they repaired it after the driver parked it in the crash barrier a couple of weeks ago leaving the bus station in Perth!

Surprisingly there are a few other Megabuses getting sorted at this moment of time, IE into normal stagecoach livery. One hopes there will replace this piece of crap.

Heard that the PKC schools run by stagecoach are due to expire later in the month. If its true, would that mean the existing contracts run by stagecoach will pass onto another operator. Not heard anything about this rumour being true?

Nothing has been put out to tender from Perth and kinross, most likely the services will carry on until the summer at least.

Heard from someone that "he got told by 3 dundee drivers that stagecoach strathtay dundee depot could be closing down" can't give you anymore information at this time but most likely it's a rumour.

If true you have to wonder what on earth the management is thinking. Of course with Route 26 who would go in the dead of winter to Camperdown Park????

http://www.thecourier.co.uk/news/lo...-dundee-depot-operations-to-arbroath-1.933377

Stagecoach has refused to be drawn on claims it is planning to close its Dundee depot and transfer operations to Arbroath.

A source told The Courier the company is intending to close its Stagecoach Strathtay depot at Smeaton Road in Wester Gourdie Industrial Estate in order to centralise its Tayside operations in Arbroath.

Stagecoach announced earlier this month it is withdrawing its number 26 bus service — which runs from the city centre to Camperdown Park — at the end of May because it did not attract enough passengers.

However, the source said the service was popular enough to survive and had also been used by staff who used it to travel from the Seagate Bus Station to the depot.

But they claimed the service was scrapped because the depot is being shut down.

According to the source, services will be transferred to the company’s depot at Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath.

“They want everything run from Arbroath depot, which is pointless because it will cost them twice as much,” said the source.

“This also means several jobs are in danger and also services will be cut. It could affect people from outside Dundee and in Dundee.

“If they shut Dundee then people will lose vital services.

“They will not tell the staff because they are worried about a mass walkout,” said the source.

A spokeswoman for Stagecoach said the company would not comment on speculation but added that the company is not planning any more changes to its services in Dundee.

“Like all companies, we continually monitor our operations — at this time, we have no plans to make further changes to any of our routes or timetables in the Dundee area. Our focus continues to be on providing our customers with high quality and excellent value local bus services,” the spokeswoman added.

Head office is moving this week, from the Evans Business centre in Kirkcaldy, to offices at Pitreavie Business Park, Dunfermline.

Really? There moving again? Whats wrong with the Evans business centre? Mind you what building have there got in the Pitreavie Business Park?

Anything is better than that dump there had in Cowdenbeath next to the Cheese factory.

Primarily, the fact that it can be unbearably hot in the summer months (yes even in Fife!), and also cold at times in the winter. The owners were unwilling to do anything about it, so SES looked elsewhere and have apparently found a much better deal at Pitreavie

It has been said that there was a Union meeting tonight with regards to the closure of Dundee depot, and it has been confirmed by the Union that the depot is indeed being closed. It has been reported on various sources, so assume it to be true. Bad choice, Stagecoach. <(

At least Bay Travel acquired the offices and the workshops, etc. Of course such a small tidy place is prefect for them, not so much for big multi-national company.

Its not just stagecoach who are trying to cut costs, and if there is room going spare in all the other depots, then what can you do. It is surprising since Dundee depot is pretty new.

I never know Dundee only had a PVR of 29. Blair is 22. You have to wonder If Dundee didn't go, would Blair have gotten the chop.

What going to happen in years down the line if Stagecoach manages to win back more School contracts?

There was talk of closing Blair a good 4-5 years ago. I remember Gus Beverage got sent to Dundee from Perth and got swiftly sent back as they didn't like his meddling...

Don’t really know the Dundee area that well, but what services does the depot cover at the moment? Most of the main routes into Dundee that I can think of have a depot at the other end – would overnighting Citylink vehicles be included in that 29 pvr?

I believe so as there are 4 Citylink vehicles on the latest fleetcard as being operated from Dundee.

There could always move them back to Perth? Of course remember Cumbernauld is about to take over alot of the Citylink work.

There is some strange talk floating around in connection with this closure, including give up some work ( this is above the No26) How does that work. There was aload of changes for the end of may but mainly affecting Perth.

The company has moved offices today.

Also with the Dundee depot, there two routes you have to wonder about. No77: Dundee -Gauldry and the No42, I dont think St Andrews depot has any room. I will say this No42 isnt as busy as it used to be. Alot of the times it runs empty coming out of Cupar because its behide the X42. Glenrothes just seems to far away.

It seems there has been rumblings that service No40, South Queensferry to Edinburgh, isn't covering its cost. I dare say its the off peak section since every time I spot one its near empty.

But the trouble is who wants to go to Edinburgh off peak? When Livingston is only 20mins away and the Gyle is only 15mins away which is also near Hermiston gate.

Unfortunately there isn't off peak bus which operates around South Queensferry, to Livingston but I dare say most just take there cars, or walk up to Tesco if there need the fast bus.

Add in the fact area has a train at 4 trains per hour Its hard to compete.

Its tough one to call, how best to deal with the area.

Stagecoach Bluebird "Versos" which have been displaced from the 727 are moving to Fife to operate the 747 and X42.

Also one of the X7 Volvo B11R/Plaxton Elite was sitting in the Aberhill depot today, no idea why.

Plenty of other places they could have went to apart from Fife in my opinion. Is Fife actually needing them...

Just an observation over the last few weeks, the 1A evening service in Dunfermline is almost always operated by the older pointer darts. Is this to keep newer stock off the road in the evenings?

It would see the Dundee depot will be going at the start of July of the most recent changes have anything to say. Its still questionable as to where the 42 and 77 could end up?

Also if your wonder what ids Unit 9, its the New bit of the old Solectron factory.

The one other thing that seem to be getting mention is major changes are afoot for the West Fife area.

What now with West Fife?

There have been so many changes over the last few years passengers are always confused with different routes / route numbers etc!
