....then add the one on the 47 (commercial part of old 13), and you have the increase indicated earlier. Dart 34039 is intended to be used on the 47, until the Solo SRs are ready, as its a commercial operation, so not subject to the FC vehicle age limit.

Isn't the 47 suppose to be Decker, since it interlinked with school work?

There are some DD journeys, but the minibus that works the 48/49 at school times, that used to work around the old 13 & 46/X4 minibus workings, now works most of the off-peak 47 journeys.

Noticed the 46 and 32 changing over at Glenrothes today, instead of X4/G7, presumably to get buses and driver back to Leven.

Yes, the 32, 46, G7 and X4 are interworked, although there is one working which stays on the 46/X4 throughout the day - xx11 X4 ex LBS and xx37 46 ex GBS.

Four other buses work on a 4 hour cycle, starting with the xx36 46 ex LBS, then a round trip on the 32 followed by the G7 loop, before returning to Leven with the xx10 X4 from GBS.

Does leave the odd situation where the 43 and X4 run together through Markinch to Glenrothes and both arrive in Leven at basically the same time. I suppose Stagecoach know that during the day they are not able to compete with M&W in that area.

Who now operates the 32?

Aberhill operates the 32. If the Optare PVR has increased to 10 then that means 3 existing Solos will remain when the new ones enter service?

34039 was used on the 13A service for a period on Tuesday. It is only being used when needed as it can't be used all day without needing re-fuelled. Also it has no CCTV or screen so strictly speaking shouldn't be used after 7pm. The bus working that operates the daytime 47 service goes on to operate Glenrothes runs in the evening.

I just spotted a Decker on the 32 today.

Are all the 32 operated by Aberhill? Nothing connects with the first and last journey at night.

Also it was in the tenders that one of the suggestions for the 32 was to extend it up to Star....

I noticed that too.

It makes sense to keep all the council services together. No school work, so no need for deckers to rn the service, but there is no reason one can't be substituted in for a Solo.

Are the evening 43A/44A/45's all now Aberhill? There used to be one rota done by Glenrothes.

Maybe that rota went over to cover the 32 at night?

The 3 buses on the eve/Sun 43A/44A/45 cycle have always been done by Aberhill, and continue to be.

The 2305 45 service used to be run by Glenrothes but this was transferred to Aberhill maybe a year or so ago. The 1805 service (now doesn't run?) also used to be a Glenrothes one. The last 32 service from Glenrothes bus station terminates at Cardenden and the bus returns light to Aberhill depot.

18008 was used on 32 on Tuesday to replace 47302.

Looks like Aberhill's fleet has inreased to 75 vehicles. 10 Optares, 2 singles, 19coaches and 44 deckers. Although 17293 is currently on loan to St.Andrews to cover for 17435 which is off road.

Well the last 43A into Glenrothes Bus Station on Saturday evening went to Glenrothes depot. I see there is now an X4 at 2350, Mon-Sat.

Glenrothes cover one round trip on the 32, which leaves GBS at 1823 and KBS at 1925. This allows the Aberhill back shift duties to take their breaks at Glenrothes bus station.
It should also normally be a Solo, as it is on the board that covers the 20A during the day.

Saw a new Solo on the X4 this afternoon.

I think at least four were out by this afternoon. At least two were spotted on the 32/46/G7/X4 workings, and one of the two 13 workings was also in the hands of an SR.

One of the wee Pointer/Dart thingys was out on the X37/40 today.

Anyone know of any issues at Moffat and Williamson? Noticed a Versa on the 5/5c today and yesterday. Normally if a Solo is unavailable one of their Darts ends up on it.

Not aware of any issues Liam, usually seen one of their MPDs covering if a Solo is unavailable.

Yeah, A Dart is on it today alongwith a Solo.

Forgot to mention a few folk on Facebook were moaning last week about school buses. Not 100% on the details, but I think it was something along the lines of St Andrews High School kids from Broom/Casan in Leven having to walk to Mountfluerie for their bus, when the bus used to collect them at Casan. but kids from Linnwood Drive/KGV Park area get the bus at Linnwood Drive. Lots of mums going down to the school complaining and buying a new, different colour bus pass for the kids.

Timetable proposals and information event for Halbeath Park and Ride

Last Updated : 22 August 2013 14:49

Stagecoach East Scotland, in partnership with Fife Council have planned an information event, related to the opening of Halbeath Park and Ride later this year, to advise customers of the potential routes and timetables to serve the site.

The event, which is to be held on Tuesday 27th August, will allow customers in the West Fife area and users of the current Ferrytoll Park and Ride to speak to Stagecoach and Fife Council representatives regarding the facility.

The information events will be held on Tuesday 27th August at:
· Ferrytoll Park and Ride from 7am until 10am
· Dunfermline bus station from 11am until 3pm
· Ferrytoll Park and Ride from 4pm until 7pm.

At the sessions, customers will be provided with a summary of the services which are proposed to serve the new Park and Ride site, including the service frequencies and routes.

In addition, drawings of the final plans for the site will be available to view, with Fife Council representatives on hand to answer any questions on the facilities to be available to travellers.

Stagecoach are inviting customers to the events, not only to highlight the potential routes but to gain some feedback on the proposals so that changes may be made to timetables where possible.

For those who cannot make the information events, the full draft timetables are available to download below and passengers can email any comments or suggestions to eastscotland.enquiries@stagecoachbus.com by 8th September.

- How often would you use a regular hourly express coach service operating into Edinburgh via Drum Brae, Corstorphine and Haymarket?
- How often would you use a link from the Duloch Park area to Halbeath Park & Ride?

Please pass on your feedback to the staff at the information events or email eastscotland.enquiries@stagecoachbus.com by 8th September.

Thanks for your feedback.

The Park and Ride site

Building on the success of Ferrytoll Park & Ride, Halbeath Park & Ride will open in November 2013 and has been developed to enhance transport links between Fife and central Scotland.

It has been funded by Transport Scotland and has been a partnership project from start to finish. It is being built by construction group Robertson, Stagecoach will operate the facility and the site will be managed and maintained by Fife Council.

Halbeath Park & Ride will provide people travelling across the Forth with more public transport options, making it easier than ever before for people to travel sustainably. With the recent extension of the dedicated bus lanes, travelling by bus and coach will also be the quickest and most convenient way to go between Fife, Edinburgh and beyond.

Modern and well connected...

Whether you’re travelling by bus/coach, car-sharing or being dropped off, Halbeath Park & Ride will be the perfect place to continue your journey. It will have six dedicated departure stances with frequent bus and coach services to Edinburgh (including airport), Glasgow, Perth and beyond, as well as local services.

There will be 1,000 parking spaces, making it comparable in size to Ferrytoll Park & Ride which is currently often at full capacity. There will also be a taxi rank, cycle lockers a dedicated pick up/drop off point and 24 charging points for electric cars. The facility will feature real-time information displays, a ticket counter, toilets, vending machines and CCTV.

Think all the Solos are now in service, with them also doing work on schools route 97 occasionally.

I wouldn't have thought a Solo would seat enough for the 97, unless numbers have reduced in the new term. School surveys have been underway this week to monitor the number of pupils using each service. Sounds like the depot have been short on buses and have had to use a Solo!

I did notice that one of the St.Andrews High buses which used to start at Casan, now starts from Mountfleurie. There have been reports in the local press about lack of information to pupils and parents about the re-tendering of school contracts.

Re the New P and R, will 2 BPH to the airport cope given extra pax on the route from it? I dont use it but a friend regularly reports it full and standing. What vehicles run this at present? X52, wgood idea. Always lots of demand for that area of town and if a change of bus was no longer required it would be popular. What is the plan for ferrytoll? I hear a rebuild may happen?

There is often folk moaning on the Stagecoach Twitter about the 747. Will X52 continue into the city, or terminate at Haymarket? I don't think 2 per hour X59 will be enough to attract many people to halbeath. I know it's not just for Edinburgh, but one of the main attractions to Ferrytoll is that every Stagecoach bus stops there so there is at most a 10 minute wait going into Edinburgh. OK so there will be 2 or 3 Citylink buses into Halbeath aswell, but there is no interavailable tickets between citylink and Stagecoach, yet.

Not a rebuild at Ferrytoll, but from the odd wee bits I've have seen online, new access using the empty land under the viaduct, new stances/marshalling area aswell, seperated car and bus entrances.

What is the BPH?

Changes are afoot from November, still being worked on. Alx300 operate the route, but with the racks its only got 38 seats. Main reason why it was changed to 30 mins was Citylink network was revised to provide a 30mins service and trying to interlink 30min service is easier than 20min. ( when it was every 20mins one of the runs per hour was dead!)

The entrance to the Ferrytoll will be rebuilt with sperate entry for buses and Cars park. No access to the roundabout with entrance moving to Hope Street
