It will be Euro6 buses

Where exactly did this Nottingham Euro 6 requirement come from? As I remember several years back (circa 2019) the city rejected an outright Clean Air Zone and instead opted to reduce emissions by upgrading the Council's fleet of trucks/vans, plus Euro 6 retrofits to most of the buses operating in the city (Nottingham City Transport and Trent Barton).

In the meantime, plenty of other Euro 3/4/5 buses have also run in the city with no issue. Most of those have now come to the age where they're naturally replaced anyway so how come one bus an hour on the 141 is suddenly an issue?

Greater Nottingham Bus Partnership had been pushing for Euro 6 for a while. Out of town services were the last to comply. No word on how it would be enforced as its only an agreement not CAZ type scheme. Stagecoach could probably go to them and say newer buses have been delayed due to x, y, z.

Also I think most of the functions have moved to the East Midlands Combined County Authority now so perhaps the old agreements may have been superseded.

It looks like Grimsby shall need all the buses they can get. If things are tracking well, at least 9 buses are still being used which shouldn't be from Thursday. I can only guess Stagecoach have applied for an extension to allow said vehicles to carry on until circumstances improve.

Don’t think most of our buses haven’t got NSA and with only 2 days until the law we’re low.

Doubt they will get their extension. They’ve had years to make sure all vehicles are fitted with them. And they’ve had a few years to make sure they have enough vehicles to put at depots to replace the ones that aren’t getting fitted with NSAs. It’s stagecoaches own fault that they are running out of time and facing fines if they run uncompliant vehicles.

There will remain non-compliant vehicles across the industry after Wednesday, it won’t be a problem exclusive to Stagecoach.

(And I want to make it clear that I’m defending anyone in making that statement, I’m just stating a fact!)

I would imagine none of the non-compliant vehicles because of the onboard announcements will be leaving the fleet as there is not the vehicles to replace them. I would imagine they will not be leaving despite non-compliance until the OpCo have enough vehicles to maintain a satisfactory service level.

Any update of 19377, 10916 and also 19382? And from what I've seen 21256 is at Scunthorpe depot ready to be sold or to get disposed/scrapped.

19377,19382 still in our workshop. No sign of 10916 yet and 21256 is at Scunthorpe with 21271 taking its place in the far corner of Grimsby depot and 21272 still facing the opposite way
