Stagecoach ALX400

Driving to work on Monday, an ALX400 in Stagecoach Local livery joined the M1 just behind me at J35, heading North.

Unfortunately I was just too far ahead to get any details, but I'm pretty sure it was a closed top example, of which there are only a handful left in service, and none in this area. It could be heading for Barnsley, but under it's own steam and looking in pretty good condition would be a shame.

Anyone got any ideas what it might be?

Could be Cawthorne’s Travel AE55 DKL, ex Stagecoach 18344 which is still in local livery but with Stagecoach names removed

Could be - timing would be about right for it to be heading towards Stocksbridge for the 757. Where is their depot? Not at the registered address in S26!
