Stage one complete. Stage two imminent.

Afternoon ladies and gents. Yesterday I spent the day in LOndon doing all the paper tests with Govia Thameslink to be a driver for them. They've invited me to stage 2 of their assessments in Watford. I know this has probably been asked before, but I don't know where to look, but exactly what will I be expected to do??

You'll be required to do the following;
(computer based test)

- ATAVT (traffic test, images shown for a split second)
- WAFV (stare at a grey box and occasionally hit a green button when the box goes black)
- 2-Hand co-ordination (getting a red blob/dot around a shape. A little bit like the funfair game that buzzes when you touch the rotating metal spiral)
- SJE (personality/judgment test. No right or wrong...to some degree. This is used for the MMI)

If you haven't done the TEA-OCC and WCE (written communication) test, you'll also do this. At the start of the day, you'll have to write 6 answers to a list of 6 Questions. This is used in the MMI if you make it to this part. (look at structured interview, its the same thing)

(if you pass the computer tests and told there and then, you'll proceed to the MMI) sometimes the computer test isn't graded, so you'll do the MMI anyway. If you do the computer tests and fail (they told you they graded them there and then), you'll be sent home. Also Google the above to see what they are.

I already did the Tea-Occ yesterday. What is the written communication test?? Is that the Glop test??
Is there any where I can do a bit of free practice for any of these tests?

The glop test is the TRP 1.
You may do the written communication exercise. This is a sequence of events in which you need to write a report based on a storyboard. You have 15mins to do it, if I have remembered rightly? (the story gets given to you at the start of the test.) It tests that you can write a report clearly. So what you write is clearly written, methodical and concise.

I'm imagining if I get that far, that it's more of an informal chinwag over a cup of tea, or am I very much mistaken??

You are very much mistaken, this can be the hardest part to pass

Even more mistaken...there's no tea or coffee. There is water though.
As TDK says, it's not an easy interview. In theory its a standard job interview. Realisticly you couldn't define its difficulty. It's hard if you don't have the relevant experience or attributes to the job. Alternatively it's fairly straight forward if you have the experience.
So this part really does come down to you. Your experiences, attributes and most importantly personality

Thanks guys. Another of our fellow forumees sent me a message about the computer tests I'll be expected to do - looks fairly straightforward to be honest.
I just really want to pass. I'm grateful that GTR are giving me this opportunity, and will be thoroughly gutted if I cock it up!! The experiences I've had up to now as a Guard should help in the interviews and stuff, hopefully.
Monday week is the day, I'll let you know what happens.
