Thanks Scott that's great. If I'm successful then I can hopefully move quite quickly it seems!

All the best to you and good luck with your training course.

Yes I would imagine you won't be waiting too long, much quicker process than GTR - I'm in a pool with them also waiting for BRIGHTON to come up!!

Good luck may see you in March

Thanks very much!

Yes I had my driver manager interview 1st week in December 2015, medical week after, at the end of the interview they asked if I could possibly start on the end of Jan 2016 course (NXG intake) which I couldn't due to notice period at current work. So for me it has been an extremely quick process!

Well done CraigD178

Thanks Scott, and good luck to you!

What does Stage 3 entail? Is it just an interview?

Yes, the start is more personal and about you. However the remainder of the interview is competency based questioning but different to MMI questions. So best to have plenty of examples/experiences in the library.

hey man congratulations on passing the the stages. its not easy!!

I wanted to ask what are the competency based questions? can you give one example they asked you? i though it might be the same as the MMI competency questions.

How is this getting ridiculous folks? It is only four weeks! Many have waited over a year!!

The only ridiculous part are the posts stating how ridiculous it is to wait! Who do you think you are?

Grow up.

Get on with your life.

You will be told when you are told.

Hi people

So this is the email I got this morning hugely disappointed to say the least!
Good morning,

Thank you for attending our trainee driver assessments. Unfortunately this vacancy has now been filled, however your details will be held in our database and we will contact you once we have dates for further courses.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Does anyone know how often TOCs recruit for drivers??

Thanks

Yes I passed all the tests was actually waiting for the driver manager interview. I had my stage 2 in Feb and got told to wait for the next bit only to find out last week they stopped recruiting, hopefully they will keep us on their database for the next recruitment drive

Was also successful on days 1 & 2, and was awaiting next stage instructions which was a DMI and received the "vacancy now filled" email.

Hoping that they contact me on any further recruitment drives! Not sure if previously successful applicants will have to resit assessment days or go straight to the DMI stage! LOROL HR have not confirmed this :|

Was extremely happy to have got to this stage, and gutted to not have had the Interview due to no further vacancies!! but looking forward to my continual pursuit in becoming a Train Driver

Good luck to all

Spoke to HR yesterday. Anyone who has passed up to stage 2 will be held in a holding pool until further vacancies arise. She couldn't give me an exact timescale though but I would imagine within the next year or so. No need to re apply or redo any tests.

I don't know what the deal is if you're still within stage 1. Worth giving them a call, they were really helpful :)

I spoke to HR and was advised that as there are no courses for the time being anyone that passed their assessments WILL have to reapply again this means completing an online application form and from then onwards you are chosen in how highly you score compared to the rest of the applicants.
Although you wouldn't have to resit any assessments.

This is a far cry from what I read I assumed that we would only have to complete th stages we missed for example the driver manager interview etc.

Find this a bit unfair if I'm honest as you might stumble at the application stage even though you have previously passed it!

We were also told that we would be held in a talent pool?
Anyways not much anyone can do I suppose, just have to get on it with it when the oppurtunity arises!

Cheers

I think it is because Arriva are taking over in November and therefore LOROL can't make any promises about how Arriva will run the recruitment going forwards.

I would suggest emailing again in November when they may have a better idea of what is going to happen.
