Staffordshire resignalling

Even though the work seems to be substantially complete, information on the details of the Stafford resignalling seems hard to come be - being limited to the scant information in NR press releases.

Does anyone have access to the as-completed track diagram or details of the changes to turnout speeds etc?

This mentions that Doxey turnout speeds are remaining unchanged.

There's no track diagram I know of, but the only change really is the lengthening of the postal siding southwards to become a goods loop, and the removal of the old sidings south of the station

Nothing exciting is happening, platforms go bi-di if they arent already, Stafford No.1 junction goes from 30 to 40 on the slows and there is a new 775m loop on the down slow which feeds into the old mail platform. The old Universal Grinding siding gets ripped out too.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but what sort of speeds will be allowed, for services (e.g. XC) coming off/ joining the Stone branch when the flyover is operational? Thanks!

That will be quite an improvement on the current setup then, perhaps a 4/5 min time reduction possible on Manchester- Birmingham XC services?

More like 2 or 3, it only costs a 125mph 5 mins to have a station stop.

A 220 should do, the pendo that goes that way in the morning will definitely manage it from stone.

The sidings on the down are meant to be put back in.

Sidings 1 and 2 are going back in, adjacent to the new Down Goods loop which runs into the former Royal Mail road.

As well as what The Planner has mentioned, there's a few signal gantries going up throughout the area (10 IIRC) and a few OLE structures which are being relocated/replaced to account for sighting of new signals.

Network Rail are also getting a new £3million maintenance depot where the Down sidings were. The existing monstrosity is being demolished.

As said in other thread, Stafford No. 4 and No. 5 boxes are also being demolished with control going to Rugby ROC.

Norton Bridge has a very good chance of allowing the northbound XCs to speed up as it can get them ahead of the Pendo at Stone. Im not sure how we could hide that many "performance" minutes...

Sorry to post in an old thread, but does this potentially mean that Network Rail will have some of their locomotives / various track testing / measurement trains based here?
