I'm currently considering a trip to Glasgow and I'm thinking of travelling in first on VT using an advance purchase fare, if I use my staff pass to get me to Waterloo and Oyster from Waterloo to Euston are VT obliged to allow me to travel on the next available train from Euston if I were to be delayed on my way to Waterloo to such an extent that I missed my connection at Euston?

Providing you allow sufficient time for the cross-London interchange, I'd say yes, as you have a valid authority to travel for a journey that starts on National Rail. The cross-London transfer isn't an issue providing you allow sufficient time for it.

If your journey had started on London Underground then it might not, officially, have been covered (though in reality would probably be honoured) but you can get around that by purchasing an Advance from Zone U1* London, which typically costs £3 more than from London Terminals.

The connection I'm looking at is 0528 Fratton to Waterloo (0712) and then 0830 Euston to Glasgow, NRE has it as a valid connection so in that respect I am covered. In my opinion my pass acts as a ticket for the purposes of the Nrcoc as it is a contract between myself and SWT allowing my use of SWT services.
