Hi,

I have been staying near Ebbsfleet over the weekend, and have come straight into London (via the Bexleyheath line on Oyster) to work today - what would be the cheapest way of returning from Stratford or St Pancras to Ebbsfleet (I work equidistant in terms of time from both)? A single ticket from either is almost £10 with Railcard discount! (I hold the return portion of a 16-25 railcard discounted Ramsgate-Ebbsfleet SVR to get me home) - have got a busy day today so no time to look into it myself sadly!

Cheers - and apologies for the rushed nature of the message, im typing this using the Android app :D

Seeing as Oyster isn't valid on HS services your only options would be a single from St Pancras or Stratford which is £9.25 or £9.20 respectively.

Hope this helps!

I guessed that would be the case but thought there'd be no harm in asking - cheers!

(You REALLY should be able to do the opposite of an overdistance excess i.e. excess to travel further at the start of your return leg - but thats for another thread! :P )

Does it have to be via HS1?

You might have to go via the slow lines to get a couple of pounds of saving.

Sadly, not using HS1 isnt really an option :( (it'll be quite late tonight, so I'm not sure I want to attempt the walk from Northfleet or faff with buses!)

In any case, I think I've got a solution sorted - thanks all :)

You might be able to get that if you get an agreeable ticket clerk.
