Why does the St Pancras trainshed lack any general seating at all at the southern end of the upper level concourse (opposite end to EMR's gateline)?

It makes the space seem strangely barren, and means passengers waiting for EMR trains all cram into the seats immediately in front of the gateline, where it's already a bit chaotic and congested.

Also is something wrong with the lighting? The seats by the gateline are very dark.

It's a shopping centre. They want you shopping, not sitting!

(And if you must sit down, they want it to be in a pub/bar where you pay for stuff. )

Yep, same as at Airports…!

At least you do not have to weave through a damn duty free perfume shop to catch a train…!

St Pancras was remodelled for Eurostar and from day one they didn't give a damn about any non international rail facilities, they couldn't even manage to build the Western side of the station properly which allowed rain to come in through the gaps and turn the ridiculous flooring into a skating rink, I haven't set foot in the place since 2010 and I doubt anything has changed
