I agree. There may be some people who have memorised every three letter code in the UK, but I am not one of them! And I am not going to use my time trying to translate those that appear that I am not fmailiar with.
It's only common courtesy to use the full name at the start of the thread, or in the title, so that everyoen knows where we are talking about.

We do request that the full name is used in the title, from then on you can use the 3-letter code (providing it's correct, which these are). No-one can remember all the codes but they can all be looked up on Live Departure Boards, Stations made easy, most booking sites (e.g. Thetrainline, WebTIS based sites), Avantix Traveller, and more, so we do ask that only correct codes are used (e.g. LLS = Llanishen; BNS = Barnes; EMP = Emerson Park and so on). If the code can be put in brackets after the full name that avoids any confusion (I have changed the topic title accordingly).
If you spot a mistake and a topic/post not complying with this, rather than get all angry and roll eyes it would be really useful if you could send a PM to a moderator. We do have a reporting system, but for something minor like this it may be best to simply send us a PM (private message), with a link to the topic/post in question. I am happy to receive such PMs if you spot this, as I'd rather know about it so I can change it. I see the topic was posted yesterday but only stumbled across it today. I can then change the title and/or text as appropriate and then everyone will know what the OP (original poster) means (and without anyone getting angry and rolling their eyes hopefully )

I went throught the station a few days ago on a coastaway run, and didn't remember seeing any evidence of why freight is being used there or along any section in the area, unless they are just using the depot.
