I'm looking to get from St Erth to Macclesfield on the 27th April

I managed to get it for £42 (for 2, using the two together railcard) going the other way on the 24th splitting at Wolverhampton, Cheltenham and Bristol TM, but can't seem to get anywhere near that price going back, can anyone help get a cheaper fare than the £74 I've got so far, (splitting at Cheltenham).

St Erth-Cheltenham £42.50 on the 0948 (Direct)
Cheltenham-Macclesfield £32.00 on the 1501 (Change at Birmingham NS)

If there are any tips that could help, that would be great, we are flexible on times. Many thanks.

If I understand it correctly:

£42 on the way back for 2 people and £74 on the way there for 2 people? Total of £114 for 2 people, which is £57 each? I think that's fairly decent considering the length of journey.

Happy to stand corrected though.

I may have misunderstood the OP but I thought he asked if anyone could find a cheaper return option, not whether anyone thought the tickets he had found were decent considering the length of journey?

The key point being the significant difference between the cost of each leg.

Happy to stand corrected though.

Yes Ilkestonian, thats correct. I assume Chapel Tom didn't understand my initial message, no idea why he felt the need to comment otherwise.
