St Albans Signal Box

Hey all.

Looking at the box over the last year it had been in scaffolding. Now its been painted and looks like to be returned to action, also next to the box was "...The lottery fund" . Is this what is going to happen?

No way it would be returned to action there - the line is controlled from West Hampstead Signalling Centre. But the box is a listed building (ex Midland Railway) so couldn't be knocked down. Glad NR is looking after the structure instead of allowing it to rot.

NR didn't, far from it! I'm surprised it hadn't fell down. But with research I've found out a group of people have done it up/doing it up for use to the public. Should be nice. I will get some photos when I'm next at the station.

its a nice custard yellow colour and lokks very nice, it still has all the levers+ frames inside still .
