Planning on travelling from St Albans City to Bishops Stortfofd and back tomorrow and maybe have a potter around London on the way back.

Would I be better off getting a Super Off Peak Day travel card (seeing as it’s £13.10 with a Network Railcard) and then add a Boundary zone 6 ticket on top?

Not sure a day return between St Albans City and Bishops Stortford offers me the freedom I want as I might be travelling quite a bit in London afterwards before getting back to St Albans.

This is the routeing of a direct St Albans City to Bishops Stortford ticket. It has quite a lot of freedom northwest of Central London but not much elsewhere.

In your journeys within London, what's the outermost zone you will be using?

The Off-Peak Day Return fare for this journey, as well as the PS restriction code, containing the following on BRFares 'OVAL CASH OP PM PEAK BTH DIR' . I can work out some of the abbreviations, but not all. Can anyone advise what it says in full?

Project Oval cash fare, off-peak with afternoon peak restrictions in both directions.
