SPT Roundabout tickets

Simple question but I've seen conflicting advice about it online. Are SPT Roundabout day tickets available via TVMs? Ta.

Yes - I’ve bought them very often!

Only the national rail though, you need to visit the ticket office at a Glasgow subway station to get the all day subway ticket.

The way SPT Roundabout tickets appear is simply as a 'destination'. So when at the TVM, just start typing 'Roundabout' as a destination and it will appear.

This does mean that when they print, they'll say 'off-peak single' at the top, but are valid all over the area of validity, as indicated here: https://www.spt.co.uk/media/jr0hvkne/roundabout_map_web_2020.pdf

I do find it odd and a bit frustrating that Roundabout validity doesn't include the final small number of stations towards Balloch and Helensburgh.

Great value ticket- I once bought one on board from a Virgin West Coast conductor, was pre armed with the details and he was grateful as he had been asked about if such a ticket existed in the past and didn't know of it.f

Agree its a shame that the extremities of the area are where they are, with Balloch & Helensburgh omitted, same for Larkhall and Lanark, one of those historical things which it really would not hurt to change

The SPT Daytripper included them stations, annoying if you want to clear them branches. The daytripper is more.

The Daytripper was discontinued at the end of last year.

National rail seems to say that they only valid on scotrail for rail services but the spt website doesn't seem to mention such restriction, where as the zonecards information at least tells you what operators accept them

The spt website doesn't imply that they are valid on operators other than Scotrail.

The Roundabout ticket gives one-day unlimited travel by ScotRail and Subway to over 110 stations within the Greater Glasgow area.

Yeah I do wish they were valid out to Lanark/Larkhall/Balloch/Helensburgh and even as far as Gourock.

Those places are evidently not considered part of what someone considered to be 'Greater Glasgow'. The cost of the ticket would be more if it had greater validity.

However, I do wonder how the boundaries were initially set. Presumably they match some official boundary definition.
