Good Morning Folks. I have a few hours between jobs in London tomorrow and would like to make some inroads into scratching off some of the above class. Would someone please advise me where they are most frequent - East Croydon maybe? Thanks in advance.

Yes, frequent through East Croydon, but I'd say more frequent through Clapham Junction. If you don't want to stray too far though, they can be very frequently seen between platform 8-12 at London Victoria.

Great - Thanks Ryan, that's what I thought, but I did wonder whether I was missing a trick here. Thank You kindly.

Clapham Junction is probably the best place. You can get good views at the London ends of the platforms of lots of different services and there's always spotters around so I can't imagine any hassle from staff.

Thanks for that. I've got to go "via CJ" so that may be the easy answer!

Did you see many? I was on the Southern network and saw 377604, 615, 616 and 620. 625 was in the sidings at Horsham but couldn't ID the other 3 that were there.

I probably missed a few others that were out

Hi Heart of Wessex. Had an hour at Clapham J and got 604,609,612,614,615,618,620 and 624 that were "new" for me and a couple of repeats that I didn't record. That made me a very Happy Chappie"!!!:D Also on a trip up to Harrow and Wealdstone managed to 'clear' the 378/2....228..and a quick run between Marylebone and Wembley Stadium resulted in 3 x new 172s 101,2 &3 , and my last needed 168 ...218 in that rather fetching new Chiltern Livery! Then I had to do some work!

Depends what time you were there, I probably passed you

I headed up from Clapham to the WCML via the WLL and passed a top and tail WCRC Class 47 formation on some charter, literally only one minute after we left, could have waited if I'd have known!

Did you get any of the 378's at Willesden Overground shed? I noted 378221 and 226, that was it.

I only need to see 212, 216, 220, 223 and 225 to complete the /2's, you didn't see those by any chance (that I would have missed)?

You must have been on that line just a little later than me. I passed a "kettle" on pulmans at Kensington Olympia with a West Coast 47 on the back, and the charter that you saw in the Kenton area! Did you see the DBS 66 on Buxton Cement tankers parked up on the Left at Willesden (as you head northwest)....I too was looking at the units and only caught a glimpse as we passed so couldn't ID it!

Small world out there:D Sorry didn't note down the 378s apart from 228 , My last one! Also there were 2 172s stabled by the Underground line 007 & 008 if any use to you!)......008 was the last one of those I needed too!!!!
