Spotted today

Hi all,

My sister tells me whilst waiting at York station for her train to Derby she seen a steam train called 'Scarbrough Sea Express'

I've never heard of this before. I don't know if thats what the trains called or if it's a special service or what?

I was wondering if perhaps you could tell me a little more about it please?

its a special train run by west coast railway company which is run in the summer using a steam hauled train. it leaves in the morning and heads to leeds and harrogate before returning to york and then heading to scarborough.

locomotives used this summer have been br black liveried lancashire fusilier, a black lms patriot (?) and red liveried leander

also wcrc leave a class 37 in the old parcel sidings, usually 37516

coaches are a mixture of maroon liveried mk 1 and 2

a Black 5 not a Patriot.....(many would love to see a Patriot but they are all gone ,HOWEVER there are plans to build a replica.
