Hello, I wonder if anyone can let me have some tips for spotting freight trains in Plymouth, Exeter, Torbay areas. I have no idea of we have any goods depots or what the best times and days ate for spotting. Many thks. Adam

Scheduled Freight is almost non existent down here. However we do get a few engineers workings.

Use realtimetrains.

Real Time Trains is not very reliable in the case of freight traffic. The paths are shown there but whether the trains actually run is a different thing. Some may never run or perhaps just one a week but the path is still shown.

Thanks Harbornite, I have had a look at realtimetrains and it will be really useful, even if only for the passenger trains. It means I can spot away from the station and still know which train is which etc It'll be really useful. I see on the realtraintimes android app "read more" section that they plan to add live details for freighters and other non-passenger stuff in a future update, so I shall look out for that.
