Figured I'd make a thread of these Sporcle Quizes. If you've got one please add it.

The first one I've done is the name of the original ToCs as listed in the 'ABC National Railways; A Guide to the Privatised Railway' published in 1996.

Almost all of the answers have quite a few alternatives as a lot of the original franchises went through several names in the first 1 year or so. (eg North Western Trains/First North Western/Regional Railways North West).

Managed to get the Zone 1 done but I struggled on the last one, not realising after adding in Kings Cross and St Pancras together, I needed to put Kings Cross St Pancras together!

And done the other one as well in about five minutes, pretty good quizzes!

I was debating whether to put them separately but Kings Cross St Pancras, Kings Cross and St Pancras are all different stations. If it was a quiz for non-rail types I would have combined them but ...

Out of curiosity, if KGX and STP can be combined as well as separate, shouldn't there be two entries for Paddington and Edgware Road?

Anyway, I succeeded both, although I missed the East London pair in Zone 1 for quite a while (realised with 7 minutes to go) and, embarrassingly, the third to last I got was Fenchurch Street. A bit worrying when I've used it a squillion times :?

They've not got different names. If it was Paddington Bishop's Road and Paddington Praed Street then that would be similar but, alas; no.

I didn't actually realised Hoxton was Zone 1/2 until I did this quiz. Same with Earl's Court which I always assumed to be in Zone 2.
