Split tickets - SNCF (TER)

I will be travelling Amiens to Rouen on a regional (TER) train.

A through ticket is €21.40, but by combining 'prix casses HdF' & 'mini-tempo' (advance) tickets (Amiens-Abancourt & Sequeaux-Rouen) with a 'tempo' (any time) ticket Abancourt to Sequeaux I can get this down to €11:80. It is the same train throughout.

Is this OK (apart from the confused look on the conductor's face) or is there some quirk of French ticketing that stops me doing this?

(No 'advance' ticket for the whole journey as Amiens & Rouen are in different regions).

I'm not aware of any rule forbidding this.

What a mess. Not a day goes by without me being grateful that we don't have the French railway network...

Yes,

Prix Cassés is a Haut de France 'advance' ticket. Mini Tempo is the Normandy equivalent.
Tempo (actually Tempo vers régions limitrophes) is the Normandy 'tarif normal' anytime ticket.

Each region has its own offers which can be good value, but punish you for crossing regional borders.
