Today we travelled from Bournemouth to Hereford using Advance tickets Bournemouth to Reading and Reading to Hereford, finally changing at Worcester Foregate Street.
BMH-RDG on XC went fine and we caught our GWR connection at RDG, which arrived into WOF on time.
That was where we discovered there were no trains to Hereford, and RRBs had been arranged instead. By the time our bus departed due to waiting for arrivals from Birmingham we ended up arriving back in Hereford 75 minutes late.
I’m about to put in a DR claim to WMR, and was wondering whether to include the cost of the BMH-RDG tickets, as they formed part of the full journey even though they ran to time and didn’t contribute to the eventual delay?
