Split Ticket Query

Looking for some opinions on this potential scenario.

I hold a Season ticket from London to Didcot Parkway, but want to make a one off journey to Swindon. I'm going to buy an Off Peak Day Return from Didcot Parkway to Swindon, but the train I want to catch does not call at Didcot (which is OK to split as I hold a season ticket). The Off Peak Day Return is not valid before 09:15, but the train leaves Reading at 09:12 - by the time it gets to Didcot it will be after 09:15. Is this ticket valid, or does the train need to leave Reading after 09:15?

Any opinions welcome.

For this ticket to be valid the train needs to be 'timed to depart' at 09:15 or later so my interpretation is that this would not be a valid combination. There is no departure from Didcot so the relevant time of departure is from the previous stop.

I disagree. 0912 from Reading passes Didcot after 0915 so the ticket is valid.

I don't think that you would experience any difficulty using such a combination of tickets.
