Split ticket Edinburgh-Arrochar+Tarbet

Planning to split a day return Edinburgh-Glasgow-Arrochar.
Much cheaper.

But is it valid on the Sunday direct service which avoids Glasgow and goes via Dalmuir ?

I don't think it is, if I am not missing anything obvious.

Split at Garelochhead instead. It is 40p more expensive but valid on any West Highland service as they all stop at Garelochhead.

Thanks, I've just looked at a map and Dalmuir is a bit further out west than I had imagined.
