Just wondering here, does anyone know what loco's DRS are allocating for the Spitfire Penzance tour on 25th June? It's only 9 weeks away. Surely they've something sorted?

I T S, are you trying to wind me & others up?

How the heck should I know what locos are allocated on the Spitfire trip to Penzance!

Just like me, you'll have to wait and see!

Well how the heck do you expect others to know what's going to be on the Welshman 4 weeks in advance?

Chester025, I do like 37/4s, but not as much as 37/0s or 37/5s? Just a personal choice.

The reason I mentioned Blue Star fitted 37s is that sometimes if they don't talk to each other correctly, sometimes the front loco will power up with the rear loco powering up after a short delay!

I rate locos on their rarity of working Passenger trains.

37/4s are ok, some better than others.

If I had to pick my favourite 37/4s, they would be 37410, the late great 37408 & 37425.

Chester025, I don't see it that way, just that if a certain 37 hasn't worked a Passenger or Railtour for a few years & then it works, then it's been worth waiting for.

Now do you see where I am coming from?

I have bashed 37s since 1990.

Does anyone know which DRS 37s are fully fit & those which are being repaired which could be available next Saturday?

Well, if the info isn't available, just a waiting game.

I have put out feelers with Jo Ford @ Spitfire & she is seeing what DRS can provide.

Chester025 & theblackwatch, I just hope you will both stop moaning about me now! It's now getting a bit tedious!

This has to be the most annoying thread I have ever come across.

The 37s allocated to the tour will be a pair of DRS ones from the company's fleet of 37s. Ends.

Anyone know of a decent Chippy in Tenby?

Also, where is the best Pub for a pint of local ale?

Is Tenby prepared for some lively Tractor Bashers, especially if Geordie is around!

I'm amazed at the venom aimed at the OP by many in this thread.

He may be over-enthusiastic, but his posts are completely harmless - unlike several others, at which a moderator's ire might be better directed.

Best Chippy is D Fecci's on Lower Frog St; it won Welsh chippy of the year a few years back. You regularly get queues out the door when the chippy just up the road is empty.

D Fecci also has an ice cream parlour just round the corner on St George's Street, which will sell you huge constructions of ice cream, whipped cream, sauces, syrups and chopped fruit etc. They even do a steam train.

Loads of good pubs, some right by Fecci's. Most will do Felinfoel brews including Double Dragon. However my personal favourite is the Hope & Anchor on St Julians Street, the road from the town centre down to the harbour. About 6 real ales on plus brilliant, good value pub food.

The reason being because he's well known both on here and WNXX for constantly asking about what locos will work a tour when its still weeks away.

I'm on this tour, admittedly I'd like to know whats on it but I'm just going to have to wait until the night before/the actual day to find out!

And if you're booked on it, what difference will it make anyway? You're hardly likely to decide not to bother turning up! Quite how some people would have coped in the days when you would go out 'blind' having no clue what locos would be working in the area that day, I have no idea. If someone frequently starts asking into double figures of questions per day, its not surprising when others become fed up of it.
