Although still a few weeks away, what chance is there of a pair of 37s off the Stockton scrap train to work?

It would be nice for DRS to provide a Blue Star multi fitted pair?

Or any of the fleet which are rare on Railtours.

What relevance does the Stockton scrap have as if its still running its been a class 66 recently

I have a question about this tour, something which was discussed briefly a few months back regarding the 37's + stock at Tenby. It is scheduled for a stop of just over 2hrs and need to know if it is staying at Tenby for this period, as someone had mentioned it blocking the path for Pembroke Dock services? Is it a possibility the set may be hauled back to Carmarthen to stable for a short time?

In an ideal situation for cranks, the steerage class coaches would be behind the 37s on the way out of Preston. There would be a 47 / 57 on the back, which would haul the train back to Carmarthen after arrival at Tenby.

At Carmarthen, the train would turn on the triangle, and the 47 again leads the e.c.s back to Tenby, where the 37s will work home.

Means thrash for the entire day!

And for the enthusiasts that prefer not to sit in standard, and like a bit of space in first. There are plenty of them, like me for instance. I will only go on railtours in first class now. Plus only if i can get one of the single seats, but thats a different matter.
Its only fair that we get the loco at our end as well. Unless they have a 47 at the other end, and that works the train back. If thats the case, then i'll happily let them have the 37 on the standard class end. But that wont happen.

Heard that 37229 is unwell!

Would like 37087, maybe with a 37/5?

Alternately, 2x37/5, 37682+37688 would be nice, ex-Buxton locos!

Any rumours on the 37s?

It's two weeks away, even DRS probably don't have an idea! Why not wait until the day instead of trolling various forums asking constant questions? What will the driver be wearing? Will it be blue star? Will the 37 be in Compass Livery? etc etc...

Chester025, chill, life isn't worth getting worked up!

Also, what is a Forum for if you can't ask questions!

In all fairness this is posted one month before the tour is even meant to run. These loco's could find themselves in Wick on a Ballast or Valley on a flask or even on the scrap trains as mentioned. Sounds like a great waste of time talking about what loco's ONE month before it. DRS probably haven't even allocated anything and won't until the weds or thursday.

What's a forum for you say? It's to discuss valuable workings on railways and not for stupid timewasting questions like this.

Goodnight

Eh, its you thats asked what the drivers wearing!!:) I call that even worse.
Stop getting so wound up over something so small.

But true.

Unfortunately the post wasnt all true.
1- Its only a waste of time asking the question if the person asking it deems it a waste of time. Remember, its his time he is taking up.
2- A forum is for numerous things. Sometimes that includes asking questions that others may seem daft.

Some people would also say that having your picture taken in front of a locomotive is a waste of time. Some would say liking trains full stop is a waste of time. But hey, its each to their own, and nobody should have a go at them because they themselves think it a waste of time.
Hey, some people would say that trolling around threads that you obviously dont care about, just to snap unfairly at people is also a waste of time. Oh wait.....................

I suggest next time your answer is something along the lines of.
"I doubt DRS have much of an idea themselves yet. Perhaps try closer to the time".
Oh look, ive said the same as you, and i havent upset anybody.

Crikey, if i went round this entire forum snapping at questions that i deemed a waste of time, then id probably get chucked off of the forum.

Be nice to people. It takes less energy that snapping at people.
Oh, and dont worry about responding to this. Ive already wasted enough time as it is, and i wont be wasting anymore.

Wasn't me that asked what the Drivers would be wearing!

All I am interested in knowing nearer the time is which 37s are allocated, that's all.

Nothing i said was aimed at you. All of my comments were in response to what others had said

That's fine junglejames, I am just a bit over enthusiastic at times.

I will be grateful with whichever 37s DRS provide, but keeping fingers crossed that we don't get 37409+37423!

Nope, it was aimed at other idiots on here that are snapping for no reason.

I may seem cranky at times, but i dont snap for no reason.

Of course you don't :D It's not like you call other posters idiots because you disagree with them...

So where was this allegedly extremely insulting post?

Yes, or have you got amnesia?

The latter I think.

I dont think i need to point out the harsh post on here. Its quite obvious.

Well i havent got amnesia, but i have got a habit of quickly fogetting what i write on here, as i dont find it majorly important to remember.

Ah, i have got quite harsh on the subject of pendys and voyagers before havent i? Yes, good point. Well, if you like Pendys, then you probably deserve it :D
Must have had me in a funny mood.

I still claim ive not been as harsh as a certain person on here though. But perhaps i have different views on whats harsh and whats not.

Never mind. I shall try and be a nice person from now on, unless someone deserves it of course!!!! :D

Enjoy it. I wanted to go on it but had to wait before booking as i wasnt 100% sure i could make it. Its now fully booked, so have missed out. Never mind.
