Spitfire landing at Gatwick Airport (historical)

Just wondering if anyone can recall when a Spitfire had to land at Gatwick, it would have been in the 1970s (outside possibility the 80s), I remember it caused quite some interest at the time but I'm unable to find mention of it via the normal searches on google, which is probably because I'm not looking in the right places of course .......
