Thank goodness.

Got to make a trip from Formby to Chester around 5pm this evening. Is Merseyrail likely to be rammed? If so I Mike at the bus into Liverpool and then the train to Chester.
Id imagine it'll be busy yep.
If it helps the 1711/1731 are booked 8 cars, the 1721 (all stations) is a 4.

@gray1404. Don't think the end of the second day's play at Royal Birkdale (today, Friday) is until several hours after 5 p.m., although they'll undoubtedly be quite a few folk leaving earlier than that.

Thank you both for your help. I caught the 1732. Got a seat on board too and a little busy bit very calm on board. Not a rowdy crowd at all. Of course very quiet compared to how things will be later.

I notice the timetables for Merseyrail for Saturday, Sunday and Monday are not uploaded. It is not possible to plan a journey on the National Rail website, Merseyrail website or BR Times. Any workaround?

Still not uploaded onto journey planners. However managed to find the trains on RTT. Very poor Merseyrail make it impossible to plan a journey the night before, especially when trains on the Southport line are running to an amended timetable.
