Good morning, all being well I am booked to travel on the H4H Special train to Hereford and B'ham on Sat 08 Oct.

When I orig booked this, on SD website, the departure from Padd was shown as 0800, diesel hauled to Hereford, I presume via Evesham, with an arrival in Hereford at 1115, then it's steam from there with King Edward I to Brum and later back to Padd by steam with Tornado. Anyway on SD website the arrival time at Hereford is now shown later as 1300, would a diesel really take that long to go Padd to Hereford, or does anyone know if there have been some major changes with this trip,? there is nothing shown on uksteam website yet apart from the orig routing.

Whatever happens I am sure it will be a great day and trip.

Looks like a revised timetable based on the actual time it's expected to take over the line. It's taking 1h20 to get to Didcot, as opposed to around 50mins on FGW and the time it takes FGW to reach Hereford is over 3hours. Seems fair to me

Looks like this train may have been postponed to 25 Feb 2012 owing to gauging problems, surprised they only find this out a week before the train.

Thats a shame was hoping to see this, maybe there was another problem they didn't want to blame it on.

Kinda surprised that they cancelled this because of guaging, wonder where the 'issue' is supposed to be because the King is due to go from Worcester to Stratford and then Oxford in a couple of weeks.

Maybe the issue isn't with the king, it's with 'Nado

Its the King thats out of guage, there is some doubt about the route for the Stratford trip. I think the problem is at Bordesley.

I Hope they get this problem sorted out soon, I am booked with 6024 on 30 Dec from Lon to Stratford, returning via the Nork Warwicks Line then via Leamington again. Hope that won't be cancelled.
