Not sure what your definition of 'more reasonable' is. The Child fare has remained the same and railcard holders save 10p. Seems to be penalising those of us aged 26-64 and not in fulltime education. What is more reasonable about that?

Agreed £15 is still good value but to describe a 50% increase as more reasonable is not really reasonable at all!

Oi! That's not allowed!
The Student Railcard was launched a few months after I left university.
When I was 26, it became available to everyone under 25.
Later, it became the Young Person's Railcard. Later still, it become available to all under 26. More recently, it became the 16-25 Railcard.
I will be 60 next year. I was looking forward to qualifying for one of these Railcards for the first time.
And now IanD changes the qualifying age for the Senior Railcard from 60 to 65.
Not fair! That's what I call it.

If there's nothing to say you can't do it, that means you CAN do it. It's quite obvious from the T&C's that normal Railcard restrictions are being relaxed.

Also, why do London Midland quote a child Railcard-discounted First Class fare? Surely this includes the Family Railcard (not just HM Forces!)?

During the previous "Great Escape" promotions the trains were absolutely packed - too packed. £10 was too cheap in my opinion - £15 is still a bargain. Yes, London Midland could just reduce the quota, but they are a business, you know. ;)

I have one of these vouchers for my wife. Can she get the 09.13 from Birmingham New Street to Euston on a weekday?

Off peak is usually after 09.30 but no restrictions apply with this voucher within the Network West Midlands area. This train would therefore leave Coventry well after 09.30.

Can she catch it?

As you noted, no restrictions within Network West Midlands area. The 09.13 from BHm-EUS departs COV at 09.48, so yes, she can!

I Live in Macclesfield but LM go from Stoke which is not too far from me so would i need to pick the Tickets up from Stoke(LM serve this station) or could i pick up at Macclesfield( no LM services run)?

It seems it will only work if you've been sent the e-mail.

I have two registered accounts. It works with one (which I use rarely) and not the other (which I use most of the time).

Presumably an attempt to get hold of people who travel rarely rather than rewarding loyal customers...

Annoyingly I've just booked a batch of advances this week.

You will need to double check if Stoke sell London Midland tickets. Harrow & Wealdstone is a station on the London Midland network with a ticket office but it isn't a London Midland ticket office and does not sell the Great Escape tickets.

As far as i know Stoke is a Virgin Trains Station so am hoping they will sell them.

Any station that is served by LM is selling this ticket. Technically every station in GB is capable of selling it, so you could try buying it somewhere else without a voucher, but I wouldn't be too sure whether they would or not.

I purchase my GE tickets at Runcorn station which is Virgin run but served by LM, I would doubt that a station would sell you tickets for the Great Escape without the voucher otherwise why have to print off a voucher in the first place???

A lot of stations do sell without the voucher. Always find them in LENNON.

The voucher is just for marketing purposes and gets sent back to 102 New St internally.

Harrow & Weladstone do not possibly because it is an LU station.

Perhaps - but once they've run out of the quota for a day, LM won't issue you with a voucher so I'd guess they're not keen on stations selling without it...
