I emailed my local club and they have sent me four separate codes for four £10 rover tickets.

It is as easy as that.

I did the same - very straightforward. Looks like the validity is from now until 23 June.

I'm not sure about straightforward - I got an e-mail from Northern with lengthy instructions on how to book the tickets, either via their app, or their website on a desktop/laptop only - and the link they have provided for the latter comes up with a webpage that says "This link has expired. Please contact the sender of the email for more information."

It didn't say that earlier! Maybe the person at Northern who is clearly reading this thread can clarify if that restriction also applies on Saturdays?

If so, not that good for getting to a match with a lunchtime kick off.

I would assume not, because the ticket restriction code is B1, which states:

Return Travel​
Outward Travel​
Restriction Code: B1 Restricted Days: Mondays-Fridays ​
Not valid on trains timed to depart after 04:29 and before 09:30.
Not valid on trains timed to depart after 04:29 and before 09:30.

I would assume not, because the ticket restriction code is B1, which states:

A lunch time kick off on a weekday from a local rugby club is pretty unlikely to be fair.

The T&Cs don't (presently) quote a B1 restriction, you would only know that after buying the ticket or reading this thread. They say:

Doesn't seem to block temporary email websites (many are avaliable) so you don't even have to give away your own email address (and can presumably claim as many times as you want).

There might be other contradictory information if you obtain the tickets by other methods or in line with alternative marketing information, but it is very clear that you should certainly not use that form unless you are a season ticket holder and must only use the tickets supplied on match days.
Your question seems to be will they detect this if I cheat, which leads on to might they prosecute if I used it on a non-match day?

Neither appear to be true. From Northern’s own media:

“The tickets allow them to travel anywhere on the Northern network for a day, so they can ditch the car and go to watch their favourite team play or enjoy a day out at more than 500 destinations”

Nowhere does it say you need to be a season ticket holder.

I got the PINs without having to specify a club. Just followed the link in post #6302 and used "None" as the answer to which club I support. Which throws the season ticket nonsense out of the window too.

I see now that there is an implication of that on the online form, but since there is an option to select 'none' under the club name drop down box that itself implies you hold no season ticket with any club, and yet can still get issued with the codes to access the ability to buy the Ranger. So I assume this isn't in fact linked to club season ticket holders.
Not for the first time would rail industry info be a bit less than crystal clear...

I think it would need to be in the t&cs when booking that you can only use them on match days / had to be a season ticket holder for that to be a clear intention of the offer.

In general it's best to read the actual T&Cs rather than just the promotional blurb.
