Anyone know if TPE Club 55 will be offered again this year? It was late February to early April last couple of years. It's a great deal.

They also do the Northern Family ticket (this is different to the friends and family discount):
In both cases you have to either buy from Northern's website, or at a ticket office / Northern telesales.
Gosh - that's niche. I'm local and a keen traveller and had never heard of this ticket. Though there's only two local destinations from Bradford, so that may not be surprising. Annoyingly the list doesn't hace all destinations - so you wouldn't know you could get from Halifax to Bridlington unless you happened to look at Bridlington and saw it - you might assume Halifax didn't have any options, so it's unlikely to trigger a family to go to the coast if they hadn't already planned to.

Northern Duo tickets can be bought from TVMs.
Or on board, if the boarding station doesn't have ticketing facilities available. A helpful guard sold us a Duo return to Manchester Victoria when we were making a single journey, some years ago, before Northern suddenly realised it could have lots more TVMs.

A poster on WNXX Forum says that a new Northern day ticket offer is likely to start on Monday 23rd February.

Northern newspaper day rover offer coming back from 2nd to 27th March according to their website, (from 23rd February if using Reach PLC tokens) https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/tickets/newspaper-offer/reach-plc https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/tickets/newspaper-offer/national-world
It seems like a smaller pool of local titles compared to previous years. I'm sure the Yorkshire Post and Evening Post used to participate. Now it seems that the only option here are The Mirror, Star and Express. Pricier options and I'd rather pay full price than buy one of them :E

The Yorkshire Post and Evening Post are listed under the "National World" link.

Since any TOC can sell any other TOC's tickets for TVM collection, are there any TOCs who allow you to collect points or rewards for booking every unsplit journey through them?

I failed last year but are there any tips for acquiring the vouchers / papers for myself located in London ?.
I think they are only available in the northern editions of the newspapers - especially the nationals. You may be able to find The Yorkshire Post at WHSmith in King's Cross or St Pancras though.

Could print off the form(s) from the Northern website in London and buy the papers when you get to the North of England. Need scissors and sellotape/glue to attach the tokens to the form(s). Tokens are available in National World papers from 2nd March to 22nd March. Dates of tokens in Reach plc papers vary (see the web page). Need three tokens for National World papers, two tokens for Reach plc papers.

Thanks @Rail Ranger , @EYFanatic & @Steddenm

I shall check out the WH Smith at StPancras and Kings Cross to see if they have the papaer then resort plan B when I fail.
I failed at Euston last year but was not giving it a good shot and its not known for its services to Yorkshire.

Euston may have the Manchester Evening News. They used to, but it's some years since I checked.

Another option for the Northern offer, courtesy of the FAQ on the Northern website:

Northern said:
I have missed the copy of my local paper that has a Northern promotional token in?

Please contact Reach PLC on 020 7293 3000 where you may be able to order back copies of the relevant newspaper
I'm not sure how much Reach PLC would charge for this privilege!

Hmmm last time I used a Northern Day Ranger to get from Crewe to Carlisle via Settle the timetable aligned a bit better to get there around lunchtime rather than nearer 4pm. Maybe I should drive to Manchester first.

Very niche. The sole journey on offer from Bradford Interchange is New Pudsey, for which I would not imagine there is lots of demand.

Northern also seems to have completely forgotten about the North East.

Ref the Northern newspaper vouchers offer I live outside the circulation area of any of the participating papers*, but I was going to ask any friends in the area to buy papers with the vouchers in them (my recollection being you could just buy multiple copies of the same days papers to get a batch of vouchers as all the vouchers were the same last time I did it irrespective of which papers they are in)

Apols if this is already up thread - but There's a long list of papers that print the vouchers

- it occurs to me to ask if anyone knows which papers have the lowest cover price?

I can then see if I have a contact who lives in the right circulation area - eg if they are going to buy say a dozen papers it occurs to me the cover prices could vary by a few quid between newspapers and worth knowing the cheaper ones

*last time I did it my local papers were included but not know it seems

The Daily Star is £1.40.
That's the cheapest I think, plus it's ideal if you have a real fire to get it started. :D

The Daily Star vouchers finished at the weekend, sadly.

Which approximate area can your relatives buy the papers? Most titles are only available in certain areas.

Thanks - but looks like I've missed the boat in that. I agree - handy for real fires or also drying out wet boots and shoes

Of course there is the issue of which of these papers might actually most deserve your custom to help support their quality work in the areas they serve

Good question - it would be around West Yorks generally - but also have a friend in south Manchester area who might be able to go on a newsagent mission

I appreciate there may not be that much variation in newspaper price of course.

Your other handy link suggests a fair few will still be in the papers until 22 March so I guess time yet to get the vouchers - if I understand the list correctly.

It is probably going to come down to accessibility of the paper. Easy to get to a supply that is reliable.

Meanwhile my ideas for exploiting the offer are dying of apathy !.

Newspapers and when vouchers are available:
Question.

I have just looked at the map and was alarmed to discover how few lines are actually Northern operated. Only the pink lines according to the map key. Seems all the PTE (or whatever they are called nowadays) are excluded. But I am inclined to believe it is all the solid coloured lines, or at least many of them.
Is it all of them or just some ?.
