I was refreshing the page. No box for my email appeared until 10:02 for me, by which time there were no codes left!

Probably like you I was on line and clicked on the link as soon as it went live but was still too late.

I think there are about 4 million subscribers to the MSE newsletter and even if only one in a hundred go for it at 10am sharp that's 40,000 people chasing 2500 codes .

Was that offer from RSH a joke? All codes gone at 20 seconds past 10am......how does that work?

From 9:59 onwards I kept refreshing my browser (on 2 PCs), and the box to enter the my email address didn't appear for me until 90 seconds past 10, after the codes had all gone.

I shouldn't really complain though, I've got £50+ worth of RSH vouchers in my account from various offers they've had.

I'll try again at 1PM when the next batch become available.

The MoneySavingExpert email goes to 7 million people so even if just 1% of the people on the list try to claim one as soon as it goes live then they're all gone in seconds.

It's not just MSE newsletter recipients either. Other feeds such as Student Money Saver have also been advertising this, and then you have this forum and its loyal followers... :D

I don't bother with these offers any more.

This is ridiculous, I enter my details, but when I click the button nothing happens! Tried reloading the page, and it's the same. The way they were released before was much better, as I usually managed to get one.

I also got a code, try leaving your email and post code in the box and hit submit continually when codes next become available, start 30 seconds before and keep pressing.

I kept hitting Submit from exactly 1pm (when I could get the page to load), and I tried refreshing multiple times, but it just wouldn't work.

I got a white box where the code should have been. Ah well, perhaps I'll get an email within 48 hours as they promise on the website.

Quite honestly I don't know why RSH still bother with these promotions. The number of vouchers available is so pitifully small that they only serve to annoy their customers rather than attract them.

Yes I got the white box. I thought Imay get an email. Was on a school computer though, when I refreshed the page when the clock turned 1 it timed out a few times then everyones internet in the room went slow. If I don't get the code I can try again at 4 or 8.

I did manage to get a voucher this time...

...problem is, the RSH website is now broken. You can go through a booking, but it crashes when you go to pay!

Yes it broke when the first lot of codes went out as well.

I can't help thinking this is an excellent way for them to simulate a DDOS attack...

Just noticed. If you go via the link on MSE you go to a specific page on redspottedhanky.com but if you type in redspottedhanky.com in the browser you are redirected to what looks like a new redesigned site on a different domain redspottedhanky2.com

I had the page already loaded up, refreshed as soon as the clock hit 4pm, pasted my email address (which I'd saved earlier) into the box to be as quick as possible.

Lol that is a joke, the box didn't appear for me until just after 20:02 despite refreshing regularly and of course after entering my details it said all the codes had been claimed :(

I hope you realise that all your RSH vouchers will be taxed at 50% if you used the link provided in Post 1197 or 1198. ;)

Has anyone been able to use RSH since? I'm still getting "fatal exception" errors every time I try to buy a ticket!

I've had an email through from East Coast to an email address I don't use with them on their site offering me 50% off tickets until the 4th October when I enter a specific code - has anyone else seen these, and if so, is it legitimate? It looks very much like a proper email so if it's a forgery it's a very good one.

Yes it's legitimate, I received exactly the same email earlier today into a very rarely used email account!

I don't follow. I know they are affiliate links (which I haven't used) but I thought that would mean someone else gets commission on any sale made rather than on vouchers.

It's legitimate. And a bit annoying after I bought London-Edinburgh tickets last week :(

I tested it out on my journey and I would have saved money, but not as much as I expected. One reason for that is that it doesn't seem to take railcards into account, so if you have a young person's railcard (or whatever its current name is) there's no difference between your fare and a non-railcard passenger's fare.

Oh that's good to hear, I might have to get on that and plan a trip! ATF1, sorry to hear about you booking tickets last week - at least it's not as much of a saving as you had expected, though...
