The Ashford services are normally 171/7's and the London Bridge services are both 171/7's and 171/8's

If we're going down that route... :D

171/7s are used on Marshlink on pretty much all services, Uckfield for the two Sunday diagrams, and peak time Uckfield services to allow lengthening.

171/8s are used to run the 3 normal off peak Uckfield diagrams, as well as lengthening, and it has also been rumoured that these may be being seen on weekend diagrams on the Marshlink (see thread) ;) They may very, very, very rarely be seen on other services for the purpose of stock rotation, but there are ECS diagrams for this.

I think I went OTT there... :)

Have the Turbos every strayed onto routes which are fully (third rail) electrified, just as a substitute unit or as something more permanent?
