If you apply try to push for noorwood-far better than Selhurst-trust me, selhursts work is very poor for the first decade of your career at least! At least noorwoods top 2 links do uckfields and link 1 do the Milton Keynes-Selhurst is pure metro until you climb to top link (many, any years away!)!and get some brightons.
Yeah, Norwood I hear is a pretty good depot to go for! Yes there is a lot of Metro stuff to begin with, but even then its not too bad. Unlike Selhurst though, Norwood drivers DON'T sign Beckenham Junction, Caterham or Epsom Downs branches, but they do go to Tattenham Corner. They also go to East Grinstead, which Selhurst drivers DON'T do!
Links 1 and 2 sign the diesels on the Uckfield branch as already mentioned, as well as the West London Line and Milton Keynes, Link 1 drivers at Norwood also go to Brighton as well.
Link 1 at Selhurst does Brighton, they also go down to Horsham via Crawley, and via Dorking, plus they also do the Wimbledon loop. Link 1 drivers at Selhurst also sign Class 442s.
Theres also a depot at London Bridge, which is one link, all Metro services, plus East Grinstead, mainly in the morning/evening peak hours.
Victoria has two links, Link 2 is mainly Metro services (but NOT Caterham/Tattenham Corner), plus East Grinstead, Link 1 is mainline services such as Horsham (via Crawley and via Dorking), down to Brighton, over to Ore in the East, down the Arun Valley to Littlehampton and Bognor in the West!
And although the vacancies have now closed, its worth considering the above for the future!
