Hi All
This is about another intriguing image from the job lot I bought at the local auction house.
It is obviously an A1/ A1X Terrier.
Obvioulsy in Southern Railway days.
But: the number 12?
Is this one of the LBSCR locos that was sold off to the Isle of Wight Railways and then subsumed back into Southern Railway stock at the Grouping?
If so: why is it 12 and not W12 and why no visible name plate (Ventnor)?
SO: can someone fill me in on the loco, its history and hopefully the location of the image?
