Hiya Guys
Just wondering how many people on this site went for this position and how did you do?
I know of three of us that passed the assessment a couple of weeks ago, and two of us did the interview a day apart.
I rang HR to find out how I did as they said at interview that the next intake for training was Mid May, and I had to give 4 weeks notice, so things were getting tight, and was told that I did not get the position (rang 10 days after interview)
I asked for feedback, and was told it wasn't available but I had to ring this week to find out
The other person I have been chatting to did not get in either, although his feedback was that he did not give enough detail to the questions.
I did really well at the assessment, and thought I did well at the interview as well, answered all the questions fully and honestly giving real life examples of the questions asked, had done my research on the company so was ready to tell them what I knew if asked, dressed in my finest suit, was early, kept eye contact and took the interview seriously so no trying to make any jokes or make them like me, and when asked if I had any questions at the end, I had quite a few..... so I was really disappointed I did not get through
I had a chat to someone I know who works out of the depot I applied for, he had asked his area Manager who he saw at the end of last week about positions for conductors, he knew I was anxious to hear back, and was told that there are NO positions for staff at this moment in time or indeed in the near future for conductors, or indeed platform or gateline staff, unless someone retires, is fired, or worse
So, why did we go through all that if that is the case?
I really hope he got it wrong, but he works for them, and he was told this from a senior position, so I am now thinking they had a change of heart maybe and decided not to recruit, so we did not get through because we were not actually needed maybe?
I have no problem with failure for the right reasons
I will learn, and hopefully do better next time, and consider myself lucky to have got to the interview stage, I just hope I did not get in for the right reasons
