Hi guys
Any one applied for Trainee Train Driver in Southern Railway for Barnham Depot heard anything back from the company yet? as I got an email last month states as "Due to the large numbers of applications for this role, screening will take longer than usual to complete. We will keep you updated periodically to let you know how your application is progressing.
Whilst your application status reads either “Online New” or “Internal New” this means that we are still screening this role and your application is still under consideration. This will not affect any other application you have made to Southern."

When I log on to my application on their website it only says submitted.
Can some one please guide me as I am unable to understand where do I stand.

I also applied for the trainee driver post with Southern (All depots) back in Feb.2014 and after 3 months they said we have put your application in Talent pool. I just don't understand this either they want you or not... why this game of talent pool..

Maybe it's just down to the sheer number of applications the company will have likely received for the post (s) on offer. Your probably one of many (hundreds?) of individuals in the same boat (or train on this occasion!). You have to be patient, if you can't be patient, maybe your best off looking elsewhere?

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what the application 'status' informs you.

My status remained at 'submitted' all the way through to the point I was offered a job [conductor].

There is a lot of interest in these positions, especially for driver roles.

As others say, patience is required. And if you are unsuccessful this time, reapply when you can.
