Southern Rail conductor help!!!

Hi, I recently applied for a conductor role in Selhurst with Southern Rail. I got an email telling me that I have passes screening and that I am through to the next stage. I just wanted to know what to expect and how many more stages where there.

I work full time shifts and also wondered whether they were flexible just in case I could not make it in on the day that they would want me to be assessed.

The job was advertised as 19k in the first four months of training and then after that it stated that pay would increase to that of a 1st year fully qualified staff but how much is that? (Job was advertised 19-28k)

i have recently had interview for that same role in december and due to start, but not taking it seen as i got a better offer with southwest trains and am starting tomorrow, after you have gotten an email to say you have passed screening another email will be sent to you with assessment practice material and a date for assessment, after assessment is face to face interview with the managers, manger's name is Piero, a young bloke who is more concerned about customer service and safety, Then if you pass that, then medicals and start date.
Assessment consist of ticket selling test, role play, ticket checking test, concentration test and so on, if you pm me your email i can send the test to you so u can start practicing now. cheers

Just to add, regarding your query about them being flexible - I would make sure that you attend on the date they give you! It is unlikely to be well received if you ask them to change the date, and they will likely say no as there will be a group of you being assessed on the day. The attitude is usually that if you want the job, you will attend the assessment!

Is the process an all day thing?

It's usually a few hours, but they will probably suggest that you leave the whole day clear. I would agree. A guy at our shack went for a Guard's job and made the fatal (and, frankly, pretty stupid) mistake of asking the interviewing manager how long it would take, as he had another important appointment. Alas, he didn't get the job.

Remember, when you turn up for the assesment, take some form of ID, passport etc. One person on mine brought nothing and were on their way home straight away.

Wage is depentdant on things like london weighting etc, so you in london get more than us on the coast.

And then you can later add things working restdays, sundays etc....

And remember, while the coffee is free at knollys, its not in the mess room, 25-30p, but there is free hot boiling water all over, so you can bring your own tea bags....In your kit you will get a nice big mug.
