could anyone please give me some info

I pass of screening stage and I was invited for an interview , but wasn't given any time frame and That was about five weeks ago. I called up HR and their response was I should call back within two weeks that the position I applied for was filled up , but there are other opportunity.

Is this a usual occurrence

I was told that there will be an assessment and psychometric test . What should I expect?
What are the usual time frame between applying, interviewing, assessment and congratulations, you got the job?

Can anyone give me their experience. Any help, advice or indication will be greatly appreciated
