For those that know the area, on more than one occasion I have come into East Croydon and have been off the train, up the ramp, out of the station, down George Street and left to Fairfield Halls and on a bus well within three minutes, moreso if the three minutes don't start until I go through the gateline.

Had Croydon been evacuated!? I find it difficult to get to the station exit in 3 minutes with the number of people who get in the way either standing in stupid places, walking ridiculously slowly or stopping for no reason :P

When keygo is rolled out further, it would not be unreasonable to suggest someone could get between the Redhill Station gateline and a bus at Redhill Bus Station in less than 1 minute, especially with the forthcoming changes to the position of the pedestrian crossing and widening of the station's pedestrian access.

If I transfer my Annual Gold Card (paper) to a Key, what proof do I have that it's on there?
I know that the grippers on the TSGN network can read the Key, but what if I am applying a Gold Card Discount to a ticket from a participating network, say Island Line. Will those grippers be able to read (even understand what) the Key is and honour the discount?

You will be issued with a Gold Record Card, as has been issued with Annual Travelcards on Oyster for many years.

Funny thing, just started to notice the gold card with the key on my train tonight. I was reading the keys' but then noticed it all printed on a card anyway.

BTW, well done TFL, or whoever it is, handing out wallets with blue writing on one side saying something about keeping cards away from each other, makes a pass just that harder to read when your zooming down a train checking tickets.

If I transfer my next annual onto a Key smartcard, will I still be OK using a Three Bridges Zones 2-6 split with a London Terminals to Clapham Junction single on the Gatwick Express? Also, the Haywards Heath to Zones 2-6 fare (AAA Crawley), is that also valid down to East Grinstead and Uckfield with the document I have read before, or am I likely to run into problems.

Yes, and probably.

As long as your clapham to victoria is a single and not a season/weekly. All your doing is moving whats on paper for your annual onto a plastic which can be read by anyone with a reader. There might be an issue with tapping in, but not out, but your gold card additional will have any validity marked on it anyway. And if the card matches what it says on the key. no issue.
On the other issue, I cannot say. Would this be a season or a daily. Depends on if the person manning the barrier at HHE has a reader/trained up etc etc etc.

Thanks for this, I was thinking of changing it over to get a bit of added flexibility for only a small amount more, of course if I had the £3612 HHE- Zones 2-6 fare, I could stop/start short at Three Bridges regularly.

Just a note, your clj to vic ticket would have to be a paper single. If your tapping in at vic, but not tapping out at Clj, or trying to get out at vic after not tapping in at CLJ, then questions will be asked.

If you buy your CLJ to VIC as a season it would not be valid on the GatEX as you would need to be on a train that stops at CLJ. (thats 2 seasons, not stopping at split not allowed, Season and a single, not stopping at CLJ allowed.)

Edit to tall dave, you could get two keys if you so wished.

Thanks, that's rather a cool idea - although it wouldn't help me split my tickets at East Croydon without getting off and on the train - for which there's undoubtedly not enough time to do, whilst remaining on the same service.

So I'll have to stick to my paper splits!

I'm still waiting to be checked by you!!!
