This will utilise the 5-10 car infrastructure on the network
SE could get 377s for their metro to get 12 car?

As replacements for 455s maybe

But only if fitted with selected door opening so they can call at those stations where 10 carriages don't fit.

And a decent interior refit with maybe AC fitted as the current windows are rather useless

They were quoted for Uckfield as another battery conversion plan. Too much of the metro is 8-car still.

The infrastructure doesn't support 10-car on all routes so parts of the metro will remain 8-car for some time regardless of whether extra 5-car units become available.

At least one Southern terminus (Beckenham Junction) can only take eight cars!

Caterham is another. There are also problems running 10-car via Tulse Hill and on the signal spacing at Windmill Bridge Junction. That is why the 8-car services via Tulse Hill go to Caterham and Beckenham Junction.

Can Tattenham Corner take 10 car trains? The platforms are quite long there

Along with In-Cab DOO equipment or the platform equipment fitted to 10car Stations (Most is set up for 8 car as all SN 10Car Metro are 377s - with onboard DOO)

I don't know about Tulse Hill but are the planned Windmilll Bridge Jct works likely to fix that particular issue?
