Does anyone know if it is true that the first class on the Brighton to Ashford International trains was permanently decommisioned in the recent timetable changes over the last weekend, and if so why?

Table 189 of the National Rail timetable shows Brighton to Ashford trains as still having First class. Seaford and Lewes trains are shown as Standard class only.

I heard a guard saying this to a passenger who was stood up near the doors yesterday, she then went and sat in first class.

Brighton to Lewes trains were converted to Standard class only in the new timetable. Maybe that is where the confusion lies.

Have just checked Southerns latest online timetable and the fast trains(diesels) have no first class symbol anymore (where they did until last week), whereas the stopping brighton to Ore/Hastings ones do.
I will want a refund on my first season ticket to Rye as they are still charging me and I reordered it last week when they must have known of this change.
They are also still advertising first class fares to Rye online......

Looks like yet another mistake in the National Rail timetable then.
